(Dan Tri) - Kanye West said he has been diagnosed with autism. The famous rapper made the announcement after being criticized for letting his wife dress almost naked on the 2025 Grammy red carpet.
Kanye West revealed that his wife - Bianca Censori - suggested he see a doctor.
"She said, there's something about my personality that doesn't match bipolar. She's met people with bipolar before. I listened to my wife, went back to the doctor and was diagnosed with autism," the singer and fashion brand founder shared.
Kanye West says the diagnosis has helped him gain insight into some of his behavior over the years.

"Autism makes you do things that are different from everyone else. You wear a Trump hat because you like Trump. And then when people tell you not to do it, you do it anyway. And that's my problem. When fans tell me to do my album the way they want, I do it the opposite way," Kanye added.
In 2020, Kim Kardashian (Kanye West's ex-wife) also acknowledged the rapper's difficulties in managing his mental health.
“People who understand mental illness know that families are helpless unless the member is a minor,” she said. “People who don’t know can be judgmental and not understand that the individual needs help.”
Kanye West himself has addressed his bipolar disorder in his music. The famous star admitted that he often feels out of control. That led to the breakdown of Kanye West's deal with the fashion brand Adidas.
Kanye West is currently not taking medication for his mental health. "I haven't been on medication since I found out that my bipolar diagnosis wasn't correct. I'm looking for things that don't hinder my creativity, which is obviously what I bring to the world," he said.
The singer's comments were revealed not long after he and his wife made a controversial appearance at the recent 2025 Grammy Awards.
