In recent days, due to the impact of weather, prolonged heavy rain in Ninh Binh province has led to the risk of landslides and rockslides in some hilly and mountainous areas. After inspection, water levels in rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, etc. have risen, affecting tourism activities.

Faced with unpredictable weather conditions, Ninh Binh province has directed and focused on ensuring safety for tourists and people participating in tourism services during the rainy and stormy season.

The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has issued a document on ensuring safety at tourist areas and spots in the province. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Transport, the People's Committees of districts, cities and related units to strengthen inspections at tourist areas and spots; request investors, Management Boards of tourist areas and spots, travel agencies to take measures to warn and provide information for tourists to grasp the situation and tourism activities in the province and proactively prevent accidents and bad situations that may occur when visiting and traveling, especially at locations with potential risks of insecurity.

The Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism regularly monitors the situation and promptly issues documents to ensure safety and security for tourists during the rainy and stormy season. The management boards of tourist areas and spots in the province strictly inspect, review, warn, and have plans to ensure safety for tourists when visiting tourist areas and spots, especially programs and tourist routes passing through caves, rivers, and lakes.

The Department requires the installation of all regulations, signs, and danger signs in necessary areas and appropriate measures to inform and enforce them. The management board of tourist areas and spots arranges security and rescue forces and equipment in necessary areas to support tourists; posts the unit's hotline number for tourists to contact in case of unexpected incidents.

Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism Pham Duy Phong emphasized that in the coming time, the rain is forecast to continue, affecting travel in tourist areas and spots, especially waterways passing through caves.

Therefore, the tourism industry and tourist areas and spots have a plan. If the caves are flooded, they will adjust the direction, operate tours that do not go through the caves, advise guests to visit other spots, and provide early warnings to tourists before traveling to Ninh Binh.

In case a tourist area or destination is affected by bad weather conditions and cannot ensure safety conditions for visitors, it is necessary to immediately stop organizing sightseeing activities and promptly notify visitors, travel companies, services, media and state tourism management agencies.

Due to prolonged heavy rain, the water level on Ngo Dong River, Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu District has increased significantly in recent days. This is the only waterway that brings tourists to visit Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area. However, with this amount of water, the tourist area still ensures safe operations for visitors to visit and experience.

During rainy days, to ensure the safety of visitors, the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area Management Board regularly checks the water level hourly as well as reviews safety conditions; cleans moss and mold on the paths leading to the boat docks.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, Representative of Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area, said that the Management Board of the tourist area has requested boat drivers to regularly remind tourists to sit in the correct position, wear life jackets and comply with regulations when sitting on the boat to ensure maximum safety throughout the journey. At the same time, they are fully equipped with items to ensure the health and safety of tourists when traveling by waterway.

At Trang An Eco-tourism Area, in recent days, heavy rain combined with water from the mountains has covered some caves, so the Management Board of the tourist area has adjusted the tour routes to ensure the safety of visitors. In particular, during the operation, the unit has thoroughly informed and reminded boat drivers to regularly pay attention to maintenance and check the safety conditions of their vehicles.

Mr. Dinh Trong Tuat, a tourist from Nghe An province, said: "When we visited tourist attractions in Ninh Binh province during the prolonged rain, we were informed and reminded to strictly follow the regulations of the tourist attractions. The work of ensuring safety for tourists visiting Ninh Binh, especially the tourist attractions and experiences by boat, was carried out quite well by the Management Board of the tourist attractions, from means and protective equipment for tourists to rescue work, so we felt very secure throughout the journey."

According to forecasts, Ninh Binh will continue to have rain in the coming days, therefore, in addition to the active participation of authorities, people and tourists also need to raise awareness in strictly implementing the provisions of the law on waterway safety as well as in tourism activities, ensuring a safe trip, bringing many meaningful experiences.
