At the Prime Minister's Dialogue with Farmers Conference in 2024, when mentioning the agricultural, forestry and fishery export figure of 62.5 billion USD as an impressive achievement of the Vietnamese economy, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent special thanks to farmers, who have persistently kept the land green despite many storms.

Storm No. 3 (YAGI) had just passed, returning to the aquaculture cage area at sea, Mr. Nguyen Sy Binh and members of Phat Co Cooperative (Van Don, Quang Ninh) could not believe their eyes when a series of cages, despite being reinforced and secured, were still shattered and broken after the angry storm, tens of billions of dong of cooperative members were swept away by each wave.

But very quickly after that, after only about 2 months, Mr. Binh and the members of the Phat Co Aquaculture Cooperative restored production to 90%, the oyster, clam, grouper, etc. were released back into the vast ocean, bringing with them the hope of a new crop. In just a few months, Mr. Binh and the aquaculture farmers in Van Don will be able to harvest new batches of aquatic products, after nearly 1 year of the fierce storm.

In the spring of At Ty year 2025, in the fields from Quang Ninh to Hai Phong, from Thai Binh, Nam Dinh to Bac Giang, Hung Yen, to the deep green hills of Lao Cai, Yen Bai,... the rice grows green and then ripens; the vegetable beds sprout new green buds; peach blossoms bloom; the smoke from the kitchen of banh chung spreads over the roofs of every house,...

The sorrowful tears of Lang Nu (Lao Cai) have given way to houses still smelling of new paint, to plum and peach branches blooming in the dew, to the warm smiles of a mother in the highlands in spring next to her new house...

As the law of heaven and earth, as the wish of the human heart, after every storm, after hardships and difficulties, spring comes again, pristine, fresh and full of hope.

How many stormy seasons have come and gone, how many springs of youth have come and gone, the universe revolves, only the love for the land, for the village, only the efforts and perseverance to overcome all difficulties of Vietnamese farmers remain intact, the only difference is, in previous generations, people only had to face "sun, rain", but now they also have to face the change in consumer tastes, in other words, not only do they have to "look to the sun, look to the rain, look to the sky, look to the land" but people also have to "look to"... data.

And with perseverance, creativity and overcoming difficulties, a new generation of farmers has produced with new thinking, creating agricultural products that meet different market requirements.

Sending special wishes to farmers, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan expressed his deep gratitude to the people - who, according to Minister Le Minh Hoan, have persistently sown green seeds for the land, not only maintaining a full and warm meal for every family but also contributing to positioning Vietnam's strength in the international market, as a powerhouse in exporting agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

That is why at the Conference of the Prime Minister's Dialogue with Vietnamese Farmers in 2024, when recalling the figure of 62.5 billion USD in agricultural, forestry and fishery exports this year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh more than once thanked the farmers who are constantly creative, trying, making efforts, and persistently overcoming all difficulties, linking with production enterprises to meet market standards, so that today, Vietnamese agricultural products have reached 190 countries and territories.

"In the country's overall achievements, the agricultural sector has made a very important contribution, with export turnover reaching 62.5 billion USD, trade surplus of 18 billion USD, while the country's trade surplus is only about 24-25 billion USD, meaning that agriculture accounts for more than 70% of the country's total trade surplus. That is real money and real rice of our farmers," said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien also affirmed: "This export money all goes into the people's pockets."

As Minister Le Minh Hoan said: "The dynamic spirit and overcoming difficulties of businesses and industry associations, the proactive change and flexible adaptation to new trends of cooperatives, producers and farmers across the country, are the belief and hope in the good values that the agricultural sector always contributes to the whole country".

In 2025, the year the whole country enters the era of growth, today's new farmers are also ready to produce to meet the requirements of the market. After decades of struggling with the ups and downs of rice in the saline alum land of Kien Luong (Kien Giang), in the winter-spring crop of 2024 - 2025, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer of 2024, proactively put his name on the list of high-quality rice growers, reducing emissions in Kien Giang, marking a new turning point in this farmer's journey of nearly a quarter of a century of being attached to rice.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Manh Cuong, the Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer of 2024 from Thanh Thuy, Phu Tho, started 2025 with a contract worth hundreds of billions, providing flowers and ornamental plants for a real estate project, while expanding the development of an eco-tourism area associated with agricultural production in the area.

"Think big, do big business, boldly connect", today's billionaire farmers are ready to enter the era of rising up with the nation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has set expectations for the agricultural sector, which is to export 70 billion USD worth of agricultural, forestry and fishery products by 2025, and affirmed that this is not only a very ambitious goal, many people say it is impossible, but we must still be determined to achieve it. It is the aspiration of the nation, of the country, no matter how difficult it is, we must do it.

To achieve that, according to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to encourage businesses to cooperate, support, and closely link with farmers to ensure input and output for production; promote regional linkages, diversify products, markets, and supply chains; expand export markets, including specific markets such as Halal food.

The State must find a market for farmers' products, farmers must ensure quality and build brands for agricultural products, along with convenient and eye-catching designs, packaging, and contributions to capture market share. "For tourists to buy products, the packaging and packaging of those products must be able to travel by plane, train, ship, or on foot...", the Prime Minister gave an example.

The main road has been opened according to free trade agreements, according to diplomatic negotiations between Vietnam and other countries. Now is the time for farmers and businesses to unite and bring Vietnamese agricultural products to conquer distant lands, as the meaningful wish of Minister Le Minh Hoan: "Wishing you a new year full of health, lush fields, and bountiful harvests. Hopefully every drop of sweat will be rewarded with joy, happiness and pride when Vietnamese agricultural products reach far and wide around the world."
