Promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", in recent years, the Veterans Association of Cam Khe district has effectively implemented the program of repairing and eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, and handing over "Veterans' affection" houses to help veterans in difficult circumstances have more conditions to rise up, stabilize their lives, and increasingly strengthen the friendship between comrades and teammates.

Leaders of Cam Khe District Veterans Association presented support money to Veterans Association member Doan Son Nam in Suong 1 area, Huong Lung commune.

Veteran Doan Son Nam in Suong 1 area, Huong Lung commune, born in 1957, joined the army from March 1975 to April 1981 in the 745th Regiment of the Central Highlands. Since being discharged from the army and returning to his hometown, he and his family have always followed the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies, actively worked in production, took care of family life and participated in the Association's activities. However, due to his stroke, his wife was often sick, his economic conditions were very difficult, he was a near-poor household, and his house was dilapidated and old. CCB Doan Son Nam said: “Understanding my family's situation, the District Association of War Veterans has mobilized organizations, individuals, and the contributions of departments, branches, unions, communes and residential areas to join hands to support the repair and upgrade of the house for my family to stabilize their lives. In September 2024, my family was handed over the house, living in peace, no longer having to worry about heavy rains and strong winds.”

The District Veterans Association currently has over 10,000 members participating in activities at 24 commune and town associations and 2 agency associations, with a membership attraction rate of over 96%. Comrade Tran Van Hoa - Chairman of the District Association of War Veterans said: “In recent times, the District Association of War Veterans has always maintained and promoted the traditional qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively promoted cadres and members to participate in repairing and removing temporary and dilapidated houses, and handing over "War Veterans' Affection" houses to help poor and disadvantaged War Veterans. From 2024 to now, the entire district has participated in nearly 1,000 working days to help their comrades remove temporary and dilapidated houses. The Association has called for the construction and repair of 11 temporary and dilapidated houses; it is expected that by the end of 2025, 23 more temporary and dilapidated houses will be removed for comrades, helping members to stabilize their lives. This is a practical activity that demonstrates the fine traditions of the nation and the Association of War Veterans, creating a widespread influence in the community, contributing to building an increasingly strong association...”.

Not only actively participating in the movement to eliminate temporary houses, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the area has launched and actively participated in local movements with specific and practical actions, typically the movement of War Veterans joining hands to build new rural areas, helping each other develop the economy, reduce poverty and improve living standards; War Veterans setting an example with the people to decorate their family grounds to be bright, green, clean and beautiful; organizing participation in collecting waste, clearing sewers, cleaning village roads and alleys with thousands of working days...

The implementation of support for repairing, removing temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and handing over "CVD affection" houses to members in Cam Khe district has a profound humanitarian meaning, demonstrating the concern and care of the CVD Association at all levels for members' families with difficult housing circumstances, encouraging their spirit, helping many CVD stabilize their lives and develop their economy. In addition to the material value, each newly built or repaired house also has great spiritual meaning and value, enhancing the comradeship and team spirit of the CVD members.
