Two scenarios for human resource demand
On July 7, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Hieu, Director of the Center for Forecasting Human Resources Demand and Labor Market (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City), said that human resource demand in the last 6 months of 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City will develop according to 2 scenarios.
Firstly, if global economic growth and some major economies tend to slow down, Vietnam's exports of processed and manufactured industrial products are expected to slow down in the short term.
With this scenario, it is expected that the human resource demand in the last 6 months of 2023 will require about 145,000 - 155,000 workers.
Second, if global economic growth moves in a positive direction, Vietnam’s economic situation will show many positive signs, and businesses in Ho Chi Minh City will have the opportunity to increase orders and expand production. From there, labor demand will increase, creating conditions for stable income for workers.
According to this scenario, the expected human resource demand in the last 6 months of 2023 is about 155,000 - 165,000 workers.
Ho Chi Minh City's human resource needs are concentrated in 4 key industries and 9 main service industries.
