On the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, Vietnam.vn would like to summarize historical images of Uncle Ho with the Information and Communications Industry and his teachings for the press.

Uncle Ho - Founder of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism
Uncle Ho was also an outstanding journalist, a great teacher of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism. Vietnam.vn would like to quote some of his words about journalism and journalists.
Quotes extracted from the work "Ho Chi Minh Complete Works", National Political Publishing House - 1996:
In journalism, we have our own experiences, but we also need to learn from the experiences of our brother countries. To do so, journalists need to know at least one foreign language. (Ibid., volume 9, p.415)
The mission of a journalist is important and glorious. To fulfill that mission well, one must strive to study politics, improve one's ideology, stand firmly on the proletarian class position; one must improve one's cultural level, and delve deeply into one's profession. One must always strive, and striving will certainly lead to success. (The cited book, volume 9, page 415)
Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons. To fulfill their glorious duty, journalists need to cultivate revolutionary ethics. (Ibid., vol. 10, p. 616)
Learning at school, learning from books, learning from each other and learning from the people, not learning from the people is a huge shortcoming. (Ibid, volume 6, p.50)
Our press must serve the working people, serve socialism... for world peace. That is why all journalists (writers, printers, editors, publishers, etc.) must have a firm political stance. (Ibid., vol. 9, p.141)
Our press has an important position in world public opinion. The enemy pays a lot of attention, our friends are very interested in our press. Therefore, when doing journalism, we must be very careful about form, content, and writing style. (Ibid., volume 10, p.615)
Write to highlight the good things of our people, our soldiers, our cadres, and our friends. At the same time, to criticize our shortcomings, our cadres, the people, and our soldiers. We should not only write about the good things and hide the bad things. But criticism must be correct. When mentioning the good things, we must be moderate, not exaggerate. Tell it like it is. (Sdd, volume 7, p.118)
One of the first journalism classes in our country after the August Revolution was the class in the Viet Bac forest that Uncle Ho opened at Huynh Thuc Khang School. When preparing to enter the Border Campaign - Autumn-Winter 1949-1950, although busy with a thousand and one things for the resistance, in a letter to the students of this first journalism class, he advised journalists: ... "To write good journalism, you need: First, be close to the masses, sitting in a paper room and writing is not practical writing. Second, you must know at least one foreign language, to read foreign newspapers and learn from other people's experiences. Third, when you finish writing an article, you must review it yourself three or four times, and edit it carefully. Even better, ask a few uneducated people to read it and ask them which sentences or words they don't understand, and correct them so they can understand. Fourth, always try to learn, always seek progress: ... And in a letter to intellectuals in the South, including journalists, dated May 25, 1947, he wrote "your pens are also sharp weapons in the cause of supporting the righteous and eliminating evil; that the intellectuals and cultural brothers must do as well as the brave soldiers in the resistance war to regain the right to unification and independence for the Fatherland"...
In many of Uncle Ho’s later articles in our country’s revolutionary press, he always used easy-to-understand words, normal language, even very common… enough for people with low education to understand the writer’s ideas, as well as the content of the article. The lessons about the heart and scope of journalists as Uncle Ho taught are always indispensable reminders for everyone who wants to and is entering the journalism profession - journalists.
