Beautiful flowers in the work of building the political system in Son Duong district

On October 30, the Elderly Association of Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province solemnly held a conference to honor outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system, period 2019 - 2024. Attending were Ms. Ha Thi Ngo, President of the Provincial Elderly Association; Ms. Hua Thi Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice President of the District People's Council; and representatives of leaders of relevant Departments, Offices, branches, and units; Chairman, Vice Chairman, Head of the Intergenerational Self-Help Club of communes and towns.

Over the past 5 years, cadres and members of the elderly association in the district have actively responded to the movement of the elderly participating in building the grassroots political system, creating a widespread impact, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, organizations and people.

According to statistics, the whole district has 1,028 elderly people participating in the grassroots political system, of which 135 elderly people are Party cell secretaries; 139 are heads of the Front work committee; 73 elderly people are village heads and residential group leaders. More than 800 elderly people participate in protecting social order and safety; 1,853 elderly people participate in promoting learning and talent. Regardless of their position, elderly people are exemplary in morality, healthy and simple lifestyle, and high sense of responsibility; many elderly people have held positions in Party committees, authorities, Party cell leaders, and residential area organizations for many years and always excellently completed their tasks.

A typical example is Mr. Pham Van Vuong, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Tan Thinh Residential Group, Son Duong Town, who together with the Party Cell led and directed the implementation of tasks assigned by superiors. In addition, he coordinated to mobilize donations of 88.74 million VND to build 500m of traffic roads, install 3 security cameras, and sports equipment at the Cultural House yard of the Residential Group...

Mr. and Mrs. Dao Thi Hong, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Tan Yen Village, Binh Yen Commune; Sinh Van Nam, Tay ethnic group, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Minh Lenh Village, Phuc Ung Commune; Bui Xuan Quy, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Tan Thanh Village, Minh Thanh Commune; Nguyen Thi Huong, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Dong Hang Village, Hong Son Commune, etc., actively coordinated and encouraged people to support hundreds of millions of VND to build local welfare works, contributing to Son Duong's early completion of the New Rural District...

In addition, there are many elderly people in the district who are enthusiastic and dedicated to the work of the Party cell, residential group, and mass organization; dare to think, dare to do, and are creative in labor, production, and business; they are exemplary models in life, and have a position in the family, community, and society. From there, the position and role of the Association and the elderly are increasingly affirmed and enhanced.

Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Ha Thi Ngo praised and highly appreciated the important contributions of the elderly to the general movement of the Association and the development of the district, affirming: The typical elderly people honored are truly beautiful flowers in the work of building a clean and strong Party and government. Suggested: The Elderly Association continues to innovate the content and methods of operation; further improve the quality and effectiveness of the content; promote the core role of the Association in the movement "All people protect, care for and promote the role of the elderly". Strongly promote the role of the elderly in all areas of social life, in accordance with the conditions; strengthen the advisory work, organize and well implement the 3 key tasks, 3 work programs, tasks assigned by the Party and the State to the Association, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Elderly Association.

Ms. Hua Thi Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Son Duong district, presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee to individuals with achievements in participating in building the political system.

On behalf of the district leaders, Ms. Hua Thi Ha hopes that all levels of the Elderly Association will continue to do a good job of political and ideological education, propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of the association and its members, truly be a typical example, a spiritual leader in propaganda, mobilizing the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; imbue with the motto "Old age - Bright example" to actively mobilize relatives, families, and communities to be aware and gradually push back social evils and bad customs in residential areas...

On this occasion, the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 33 elderly people with outstanding achievements in participating in building the grassroots political system, period 2019-2024.
