As Secretary of the Party Cell of Tat Dai village, Dia Linh commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province, Mr. Vi Thanh Trung (born in 1957) has always been active, enthusiastic about his work, exemplary, and a pioneer in emulation movements. He is a typical elderly person with many contributions to building a strong grassroots political system and building an increasingly innovative homeland.

Talking to reporters in the early days of the New Year of the Snake, Party Secretary Vi Thanh Trung happily said: “As an elderly person, I always determine to uphold the sense of responsibility assigned by the Party and the People, to be devoted to my work, to serve the people; to mobilize people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and local regulations. At the same time, to strengthen the great solidarity bloc; to unify will and action, to focus on economic development, and to actively encourage people to participate in patriotic emulation movements. Thereby, contributing to the successful completion of socio-economic targets, ensuring security and national defense in the locality".
Not only close to the people, understanding the people, Mr. Trung also did a good job of mass mobilization work associated with implementing the democratic regulations at the grassroots level. He directly went to each house with land in the planning area, encouraging people to donate land to build roads, joining hands to build new rural areas. Not discouraged by the opposition of many households, he found ways to persuade and analyze for people to see the meaning of building concrete roads, contributing to promoting economic development, changing the face of the countryside. From gentle and reasonable analysis, households with land in the planning area voluntarily donated 1,800m2 of land to build rural roads. In addition, he and other cadres, party members, and members of the Elderly Association contributed funds to support poor families who had to go to the hospital, build toilets for the poor, and prevent and fight epidemics...
Besides, he encouraged people to practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals, longevity celebrations, and happy occasions, organized safely, economically, without ostentation, formality, or waste. The organization of the National Great Unity Day Festival was joyful and healthy, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, and people. In particular, due to the good work of mediation at the grassroots level, for many years, Tat Dai village has not had any petitions or complaints. Through annual assessments, 95% of households in the village have achieved the title of cultural family; for many years, the village has achieved the title of cultural residential area.
Regarding political security, social order and safety are always stable, with no hot spots. People always trust the Party's guidelines and leadership.
Mr. Trung added: “My point of view is that all collective matters must be discussed, opinions must be sought from cadres and party members, and leadership views must be agreed upon before being brought to the people's meeting. When implementing, from the Party Cell Secretary to the party members must always be exemplary, closely following in leadership and direction according to assigned tasks. In activities, the Party Cell always implements well the 5 principles of organizing Party activities, focusing on innovation based on the principles of democratic centralism and solidarity, unity, affirming the leadership role of the Party Cell in all activities of the village”.
Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, President of the Elderly Association of Ba Be District, said: “Mr. Vi Thanh Trung is an enthusiastic person, has a firm grasp of the principles of Party activities, has been the Party Cell Secretary for many years, and has made positive contributions to the activities of the village. The village Party Cell has successfully and excellently completed its tasks for many years, and has been commended many times by the Provincial and Commune Party Committees.”
