BTS enters the LEGO gaming world

Often known as a toy brand, LEGO has been expanding its influence into the gaming industry, with more than 80 games adapted or inspired by LEGO. Recently, the brand has announced a unique new publication, recreating the image of the famous Korean band BTS. This product is now also available in Vietnam.

The product includes 749 pieces depicting the scene from the Dynamite music video, with vibrant colors and typical details such as the donut shop, ice cream truck and record store that can be disassembled and assembled separately, allowing players to freely create and diversify the experience. The seven multi-talented boys RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook also appear as LEGO characters.

LEGO Ideas BTS Dynamite was designed by Josh and Jacob, two die-hard fans of LEGO and the Korean boy band, and was inspired by the hit single released in August 2020 that reached over 100 million views in less than a day and a billion views in just eight months. The song even earned the band their first chart-topping single in the United States and their first Grammy nomination.

Speaking about the design process, Jacob, 21, who lives in Indiana, said: " I'm a big BTS fan, so I told Josh what elements the product needed and what details were most important, and he planned the design and construction to make that idea come true. Working with Josh was really a fun experience. "

Josh, 20, who lives in New York, added: " Jacob knows BTS really well and he helped guide my design process in a way that was very relevant. I watched the music video over and over again and tried to capture the spirit of the music video through the LEGO pieces. When our project blew up overnight, it was a crazy feeling ."

Federico Begher, LEGO product lead, commented: " When we saw Josh and Jacob's design, we knew it would be a hit, and indeed their idea quickly reached 10,000 votes in the LEGO Ideas poll. This means BTS fans have supported the product, so it was important that we stayed as true to the original as possible. This product is all about creativity, passion and most importantly, fun! We can't wait to see fans build and display it ."
