Positive signals about revenue along with a legal corridor that creates favorable conditions for the development of domestic films, contribute to opening up many new opportunities for the Vietnamese film industry in general.
According to Box Office Vietnam - an independent box office statistics site with a small margin of error, up to now, "Nha Ba Nu" has earned nearly 458 billion VND, "Chi Chi Em Em 2" has earned more than 121 billion VND, "Sieu Don Gat Super Muddy" has earned nearly 65 billion VND despite only being released on March 3. The film "Sieu Don Gat Super Muddy" is also holding the No. 1 position on the daily revenue chart, surpassing many foreign works.
In addition, CJ CGV Vietnam Company said that Decree 131/2022/ND-CP (detailing a number of articles of the Cinema Law) has mentioned the ratio of Vietnamese film screenings in the cinema system nationwide. Accordingly, from 2023, Vietnamese films will be given priority to be screened from 6 to 10 p.m. every day, ensuring at least 15% of the total number of screenings in the year. With this regulation, domestic filmmakers can rest assured about the number of screenings and screening times of Vietnamese films when released in the cinema system.

Vietnamese films have been receiving attention from production and investment units. Many projects exploiting Vietnamese historical and cultural materials such as: "Dat Rung Phuong Nam", "Lat mat 6: The fateful ticket", "Tet o Lang Dia Nguc", "9 o'clock storm fire", "The last queen", "Cham va hanh phuc"... will soon be released to the audience in the near future.
According to the film industry, in 2019, each Vietnamese person went to the cinema on average 0.6 times/year. Meanwhile, this number for countries in the region is 4 times/year (Korea), 3.4 times/year (Singapore), 2.4 times/year (Malaysia) - statistics from the Cannes Film Festival. Many Vietnamese audiences watch movies from 5 to 50 times/year. Therefore, the estimated number of people going to the cinema in Vietnam is only about 5 - 8 million, accounting for about 5% - 8% of the population and 80% are under 30 years old.
Therefore, compared to other countries, the cinema market in Vietnam still has a lot of potential for development. Many experts believe that besides the government's policies to support the development of cinema, the number of audiences going to the cinema also depends on the quantity and quality of films, especially Vietnamese films.
Good works that create word-of-mouth effects and sympathy with the majority of audiences will have a chance to win revenue compared to films that follow the same path and lack appeal. Disaster films and stupid comedies will surely lose money and have no chance to make a fortune in the market.
