According to the operator, today all routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, and Da Lat to Can Tho have stopped carrying passengers; at the same time, the operator has instructed passengers who have booked in advance that the bus company will contact them to refund.
According to records at Thanh Buoi company's headquarters at 266-268 Le Hong Phong (Ward 4, District 5); Thanh Buoi Garage office at 630 Dien Bien Phu (Ward 22, Binh Thanh District), land lot No. 1 Vinh Vien (District 10), activities are still taking place but quite deserted. Currently, activities here only serve the need of transporting goods.
Previously, on September 30, Thanh Buoi passenger bus with license plate 50F-004.83 collided with a 16-seat vehicle on National Highway 20 through Dong Nai province, killing 5 people and injuring 4 others.
On October 2, the Investigation Police Agency, Dinh Quan District Police (Dong Nai) prosecuted and temporarily detained Hoang Van Tinh - Thanh Buoi car driver - to investigate the act of "violating regulations on road traffic participation".
Regarding this particularly serious accident, the Prime Minister issued a telegram requesting a comprehensive inspection of compliance with regulations on business and conditions for automobile transportation business for enterprises, business households with vehicles and people involved in the accident. Therefore, from October 5 to 18, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport established an inspection team for Thanh Buoi bus company.
On October 26, the City Department of Transport announced the results of the inspection of Thanh Buoi Company, discovering 9 violations related to compliance with regulations and conditions for passenger transport business. At the same time, the Department also transferred the case to the Ho Chi Minh City Police for investigation.
On the afternoon of October 26, police and traffic inspectors inspected the operations of Thanh Buoi Company at its headquarters and branches in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat City (Lam Dong).
A day later, Thanh Buoi car company informed that the police had seized many documents to serve the investigation. The company said that it would actively cooperate with the police.
Late last night (October 28), on the Thanh Buoi Passenger Bus Fanpage, this bus company announced that it would automatically stop passenger transport operations in all locations from 5:00 a.m. on October 29. The company will refund the money to passengers who have transferred money.
