The Vietnamese trade office system proactively develops plans and solutions to both promote bilateral trade cooperation and strongly open up export markets.
'Busy' from the first months of the year
In 2025, the Government has set a target of domestic economic growth of over 8-10% and aims for double-digit growth in the next period. In particular, export is identified as one of the three main growth drivers of the economy, in the "trio".

(M) Berhad and LS Sales and Marketing Sdn. In Thai Binh, introducing to Malaysian partners, businesses have promoted and offered strong products such as: Vermicelli, dry pho, canned drinks, beer products...

Similarly, in the Philippines market, Mr. Phung Van Thanh - Vietnam Trade Counselor here said that the Philippines is an attractive destination for domestic export enterprises. Therefore, to promote trade between the two countries in 2025, the trade office has stepped up the implementation of many propaganda activities, promoting the image of the country, people and products/goods of Vietnam to business partners, partners and consumers of the Philippines through fairs, exhibitions, weekly activities or conferences, seminars to introduce and promote trade between the two sides.
Notably, from the US market, Mr. Do Ngoc Hung - Commercial Counselor, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in the US - has been having busy days. Since US President Donald Trump took office and there have been many changes in trade policies, trade officers and trade offices in the US have monitored, grasped and continuously updated information from the host country to promptly report and advise the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on appropriate response policies as well as provide information to guide domestic public opinion.
Specifically, regarding the US President Donald Trump's imposition of an additional 25% tax on imported steel and aluminum, the trade office said that Vietnam still has many opportunities to continue exporting because in reality, the production capacity of US steel and aluminum manufacturers cannot immediately meet domestic demand. However, the profit margin of exporting enterprises may decrease. In addition, Vietnamese goods exported to the US market have competitive prices and good quality, can supplement the US economy, contribute to reducing inflation, and greatly support bilateral trade activities.
Providing additional information, the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that Vietnamese goods exported to the United States mainly compete with third countries, not directly with US businesses in the US market. On the contrary, it also creates conditions for US consumers to use cheap Vietnamese goods.
“ Any existing issues in bilateral trade and economic relations will be proactively discussed through the policy dialogue mechanism of the Vietnam - US Trade and Investment Council (TIFA), which is being maintained regularly, continuously and effectively at all levels to strengthen strategic trust between the two countries, create a common vision, contribute to long-term orientation and stabilize the development roadmap of bilateral economic and trade relations,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated.

“ Along with organizing, coordinating and supporting domestic enterprises to participate in promoting and introducing goods in fairs and exhibitions in Malaysia, the Trade Office will also promote survey activities, acting as a bridge to support enterprises of the two countries to learn about the market and diversify export products. Survey and working activities not only promote trade activities but also greatly support investment cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia,” said Mr. Le Phu Cuong.
