After Tet At Ty 2025, the yellow apricot care service in Gia Lai is busy again in season. The apricot care job after Tet helps many gardeners earn a significant income, but the effort is also not small.
At Thanh Hoa apricot garden (group 5, Yen The ward, Pleiku city, Dak Lak province), these days, many people have brought apricot trees to be cared for in preparation for next year's Tet flower season.

According to Mr. Truong Thanh Hoa, this year, the gardener has taken care of nearly 100 apricot trees. Taking care of apricot trees after Tet is very busy and laborious. Also, because this type of tree costs from several million to several tens of million VND, it must be carefully cared for.
“The care is very elaborate and meticulous. The apricot pots displayed in the house after Tet are exhausted. To restore and nourish the trees, gardeners must remove the remaining flowers on the trees, then prune the branches, change the soil, and fertilize the trees,” said Mr. Hoa.
According to Mr. Hoa, every year, the gardener takes care of about 250 apricot pots, of which about 100 pots are sent by customers. The salary ranges from 1 to 3 million VND/tree/year.
As for the family's apricot pots, he rents them out for prices ranging from 3 million VND to 20 million VND per tree. If the apricot pots that customers send to him for care do not bloom on time by Tet, the gardener must compensate the customers with other apricot pots.

When we arrived, many customers transported pots of mai to Mr. Le Quang's garden (group 3, Phu Dong ward) for care.
Mr. Quang said: Normally, apricot pots will be weakened after blooming during Tet, so the recovery period is very important. Each apricot pot has a different shape, so gardeners need to have appropriate cutting and pruning techniques. Caring for apricot is not simple, because the tree is often affected by thrips.
“Gardeners use organic fertilizer to fertilize plants. Before fertilizing, compost must be applied and the plants must be watered just enough for growth.
Not everyone can take care of apricot blossoms to make them bloom on time for Tet. Garden owners must apply many technical measures and influence the entire growth and development process of the tree.
Especially, around the end of December, gardeners must regularly monitor the weather and outdoor temperature to apply appropriate care measures" - Mr. Quang shared his experience.

Mr. Ha Van Binh (Group 4, Tra Ba Ward, Pleiku City) is a person who loves to play with apricot flowers. During Tet, he often buys apricot flowers to display in his house. After Tet, he sends them to the garden to take care of so that he can continue to use them next year.
Mr. Binh said: “Because I don’t know how to take care of apricot blossoms, every year I send them to the garden to be taken care of. The apricot blossoms I send them to grow well, the flowers are even and beautiful, and they bloom right on Tet. To me, yellow apricot blossoms symbolize wealth and prosperity, bringing good luck during Tet.”
After receiving the yellow apricot trees, the gardener will water them fully and check the quality of the leaves and roots of the tree. After a few weeks, when the tree has regained its strength, they will proceed to prune, restrain branches, stimulate roots... or shape them according to the customer's preferences.
The cost of caring for apricot trees depends on the value of each tree. Currently, the cost of caring for apricot trees for 1 year is about 10-20% of the value of the tree, not including the cost of repotting, shaping or grafting. Caring for apricot trees after Tet helps many gardeners earn a significant income, but the effort is also not small.
