For the first time, viewers can enjoy 60 works of art by French painters and sculptors depicting Vietnamese people and landscapes nearly 100 years ago at an exhibition organized by Sotheby's.
Celebrating 50 years of presence in Asia, Sotheby's organizes an exhibition in Vietnam from August 14 to August 17.
This is the second time after Sotheby's first exhibition of 50 works by the quartet Le Pho, Mai Trung Thu, Vu Cao Dam, Le Thi Luu - 4 early painters of the Indochina College of Fine Arts (Hanoi) in July 2022.

Since the late 19th century, before the Indochina College of Fine Arts was established, the French government sent many artists to its colonies in Southeast Asia with the task of recording and recounting in pictures the landscape, people, and cultural and social activities there.
The Song of Songs by Joseph Gilardoni
Many French artists came to Vietnam to teach at the Indochina Fine Arts College and also traveled all over the country to create. Their works are preserved by their families and art collectors in Vietnam and abroad.
