"The system of international relations is changing rapidly and a new European security architecture has not yet been built," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said after French President Emmanuel Macron's remarks on the need for Europe to reconsider its future relations with Russia.

"It is clear that as the security architecture of Europe is changing rapidly, it needs to be rebuilt. The entire system of international relations is changing," he told the media.

Spokesman Peskov noted that this will require great efforts from all of Europe in the future and is a matter of special concern for the Kremlin in order to ensure Russia's legitimate security interests.

Earlier, speaking at an international peace conference at the Palais des Congres in Paris, President Macron said the current world order is incomplete and unjust because it was formed a long time ago, at the end of World War II.

He stated that this world order is not based on issues that have emerged and become of particular concern, such as climate change and the technological revolution. Therefore, European countries and the world should focus on "building a new world order".
