Here, the patient was hospitalized with many red allergic rashes, 3-5 mm in size, itchy all over the body; purple lips and extremities, rapid and shallow breathing, chest pain, fatigue, blood pressure 70/40 mmHg.

The patient was diagnosed with anaphylactic shock due to eating locusts, after which the doctors here immediately performed emergency treatment on the patient and treated him according to the anaphylactic treatment protocol. After emergency treatment, the patient was conscious, his pulse and blood pressure were stable and he was expected to be discharged in the next few days.

According to Dr. Mai Giang Nam - Head of the Department of Emergency - Intensive Care - Anti-Poison, Thanh Son District Medical Center (Phu Tho), anaphylactic shock can occur at any age, in any case and not only due to medication, but also due to eating strange foods (shrimp, crab, insects...), insect bites, contact with strange substances... Anaphylactic shock can occur at any time, if not treated promptly, it can easily lead to death.

Common symptoms of anaphylactic shock include fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest tightness, rapid pulse, low blood pressure, agitation, wheezing, impaired consciousness, coma, and even death. In addition, if other unusual symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, nausea, rash, abdominal pain, digestive disorders, etc. appear, you should go to a medical facility immediately for examination and timely treatment.

Doctors here said that to minimize the risk of allergies or anaphylactic shock, people should limit their intake and eliminate the habit of eating locusts, especially those with allergies. "Eating just a small amount like the patient above can lead to anaphylactic shock, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, which is very dangerous," said Dr. Nam.
