The aid package approved by US President Joe Biden includes “multiple air defense systems, anti-tank weapons and other critical ammunition from the US stockpile,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Tuesday during a visit to Washington by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

The readjustment of military supplies from other countries will also allow the US to provide ammunition for Patriot air defense systems and other systems “in a shorter time.”
The new supplies are among several tranches of aid provided since the US Congress approved a total of $61 billion in funding for Ukraine in late April.
Since Russia launched its attack on Ukraine in February 2022, the US has provided Kiev with a total of more than $50 billion in military aid, according to the Pentagon.
As a result of the extension of military aid from the US, Ukraine was able to stabilize the situation on a front line about 1,000 km long.
Continued military aid from Western countries is an important part of Ukraine's ability to continue the fight, as well as improving its air defense capabilities, protecting cities and key infrastructure from Russian airstrikes.
