Dreamy Hanoi Autumn Through the Lens of a Saigon Photographer

Photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa captured beautiful moments of autumn in Hanoi during his trip in early October.
Hanoi's autumn morning appears gentle and poetic with the first rays of sunlight shining through the treetops on the cool Phan Dinh Phung street. People and vehicles are bustling back and forth on the street. The "specialty" of autumn in Hanoi is the colorful flower carts. The flower baskets are carefully arranged by street vendors on old shoulder poles, an image imbued with the flavor of autumn in Hanoi. Phan Dinh Phung Street attracts many locals and tourists to check-in and take photos in the fall. Girls in flowing white ao dai, posing on the cool green street, filled with autumn sunshine. Photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa, 38 years old, who won first prize in the Sony Vietnam Festival photo contest 2022, shared that autumn in Hanoi brings a gentle, joyful feeling, especially when looking at people happily enjoying the autumn weather. Street vendors carry fruit full on their bicycles throughout the streets of Hanoi. Through the photographer's lens, Hanoi's autumn also appears nostalgic with the train tracks running across the city. Long Bien Bridge has stood tall across the Red River for more than 100 years, looking gentle in the autumn sun. The bridge now bears the mark of time, only for pedestrians, motorbikes and primitive vehicles to cross on both sides of the central railway tracks. The afternoon sunlight falls on Hoan Kiem Lake, in the distance is the ancient Turtle Tower. Tran Quoc Pagoda shimmers in the evening light. Turtle Tower is brilliant in the night lights.
