On the afternoon of July 4 (Vietnam time), MU's homepage officially announced the decision to extend the contract with coach Erik Ten Hag. The contract signed by the two sides in 2022 only has 1 year left. Therefore, to help the Dutch coach feel secure in his work, the two sides sat down at the negotiating table and agreed to extend it for another year, until the summer of 2026.

Speaking after signing the contract, coach Erik Ten Hag said: "I am very happy to have reached an agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back on the past two years, we can be proud to have helped the club win two titles and show progress.
However, we must also understand that there are still many difficulties ahead to reach the level that the team desires, which is to compete fairly for the opportunity to win the Premier League and European titles."
Previously, there was a lot of information that MU would fire coach Ten Hag, but in the end, the team's leadership reconsidered after the Dutch coach helped MU win the FA Cup at the end of May. Coach Ten Hag and the Red Devils will officially start preparing for the new season in about 10 days with a friendly match against Rosenborg on July 15.
