“The Russian Defense Ministry is considering how to respond to a possible long-range strike on our territory, we will take various response measures,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked allies to allow Ukraine to fire Western missiles, including long-range US ATACMS and British Storm Shadows, deep into Russian territory to limit Moscow's offensive capabilities.

Mr. Putin stressed that it was still too early to say how, when and where Russia would react, but Moscow would certainly react similarly if Kiev were allowed to use Western weapons to carry out a long-range attack on Russian territory.
According to the Russian leader, only personnel from NATO countries can operate the equipment Ukraine wants because Kiev does not have the necessary specialists.
“The Ukrainian army is not capable of doing this independently, they cannot do it,” Mr. Putin declared.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has repeatedly refused the Ukrainian President's request to lift the ATACMS missile range restriction, which is about 300 km to targets on Russian territory.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said one of the main reasons for the US decision was that "Russia moved their aircraft out of range of the ATACMS."
The removal of Western restrictions on the use of foreign-made long-range weapons and an immediate invitation to join NATO are two of the main demands of President Zelensky's "victory plan" , which Moscow has described as "incoherent" and designed to push "NATO members towards direct conflict" with Russia.
