On the morning of March 26, on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the Mekong Institute of Applied Science, Technology and Training organized an exchange and meeting between Minister Le Minh Hoan - founder of the project "Reading with Cyclo" with union members and young people of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the theme: Youth volunteers and companions in building rural culture in response to the campaign "Reading with Cyclo".
The exchange and meeting were also broadcast online to 63 connecting points of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branches of 63 Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development nationwide.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ta Hong Son, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that in recent years, the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the Ministry have continued to have new developments, going into depth and substance, with positive changes throughout the system.
In particular, emulation movements have been widely deployed, have had a pervasive effect, and are associated with bringing the resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels into life. Discipline, order, style, and working methods of union cadres have made much progress. In the direction, innovation, creativity, determination, focus, key points, planning, and strategy have been demonstrated.
On this occasion, the Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development affirmed that the task set for the Ministry's Youth Union is to continue to make more efforts to build a strong Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with its own identity, actively contributing to the development of the Ministry; becoming an excellent Youth Union unit.
In response to the campaign "Reading books with Xich Lo", the Ministry's Youth Union also organized many volunteer movements for the community, including the movement to bring books to the countryside.
In addition, the Ministry's Youth Union has also organized the "Reading for Change" contest; the "Children Read Books with Cyclo" program; maintained youth bookcases and shelves at the headquarters of agencies and units under the Ministry...
With the spirit of youth initiative, volunteerism and creativity, to concretize the contents of the Campaign "Reading with Cyclo", in the coming time, the Ministry's Youth Union will coordinate with units to implement many activities.

Sharing with Dan Viet, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tuynh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Agricultural Academy said that the project "Reading with Cyclo", recently, the Youth Union - Student Association of Vietnam Agricultural Academy established the Skybooks Club. Up to now, the Skybooks Club has a bookshelf with nearly 3,000 books, more than 200 titles of all kinds.
Under the direction of the Youth Union - Student Association of the Academy, the Skybooks Club organizes book screenings every Wednesday (from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with 100-150 readers coming to read books directly, the number of readers borrowing books to read at home is 10-15 readers/book screening. In order to promote and popularize reading culture, every year, the Club organizes "Reading and Book Exchange Day" on the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, April 21.

Borrowing the words of writer Nguyen Huy Thiep: "I was born in the countryside, my parents are farmers", Minister Le Minh Hoan sent a message and inspired the youth union members of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development about their love for their hometown and asked the question "what have I done for that hometown...".
"If we return to each young person, we will contribute to activating and reviving our villages, creating abundant energy and doing what we can, each action will spread...", Minister Le Minh Hoan shared.

Minister Le Minh Hoan said we must "Start asking why?". According to him, the person who starts asking questions is the one who begins the journey of knowledge.
“When people know how to ask questions, they are also motivated to seek answers and knowledge summarized in books,” Minister Le Minh Hoan emphasized.
Taking the story of a Japanese man who was drafted into the army and became the first person to hear the Japanese Emperor's declaration of surrender in 1945, Minister Le Minh Hoan sent a message to the young generation in the agricultural sector.
“That young man realized that he had a role to play in Japan’s future when he heard the announcement of surrender. We here, the young people in the agricultural sector, need to have the same mindset. What is your role in the future of Vietnam?”, he added.
