Car drivers are exempted from tolls on two sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway during its temporary operation, helping to reduce traffic congestion during the Lunar New Year.
On January 23 (the 24th day of the Lunar New Year), the Ministry of Transport sent a document to the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) regarding the temporary exploitation of two sections of about 11km belonging to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project.
Accordingly, these highway sections have been thoroughly inspected to ensure that they fully meet safety requirements. The opening of these two highway sections aims to meet the travel needs of people and reduce traffic congestion during the peak period of Tet.
Specifically, the two temporarily exploited sections include: Km0+600 - Km3+420 (from Trung Luong intersection to National Highway 1A intersection, Long An province) and Km50+300 - Km57+700 (from Phuoc An intersection to National Highway 51 intersection, Dong Nai province).
Previously, Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VEC E) launched a hotline 1900.969.607 to support people having problems while traveling on this highway.
According to VEC E, the temporary operation of these two expressway sections will help reduce the load on existing national highways. Notably, people traveling on these two expressway sections will be exempt from tolls until April 30.
Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is more than 57km long, starting from Ben Luc district (Long An) and ending in Long Thanh district (Dong Nai). Of which, the section through Long An province is 2.7km long, Ho Chi Minh City is 26.4km long and Dong Nai is 28.7km long. The road is 24m wide with 4 lanes and 2 emergency lanes, maximum speed of 100km/h. The project started in mid-2014 with an initial total investment of more than 31,300 billion VND. |
