Spain Mrs. Lucia visited Dani Alves in prison and confirmed that her son was wrongly accused of sexually assaulting a young woman.

Alves was arrested by police at the Mossos d'Esquadra de Les Corts station in Barcelona, Spain, and taken to the Ciutat de la Justicia court on January 20. He has been held in Brians 1 prison for more than four months, before being transferred to Brians 2 - where most of the prisoners are charged with sexual assault.

Last weekend, Mrs. Lucia, Luci and Domingo - Alves' two brothers - went to Brians 2 to visit and show support for the Brazilian defender.

When leaving Brians 2, Mrs. Lucia said she "believed in her son's innocence" because Alves was a good person. She also affirmed that she was "strong and waiting for the moment when my son's innocence is proven".

Meanwhile, Ney's brother - who regularly updates information about the incident on social media - reassured those who still support Alves that the Brazilian defender is "fine" and hopes his brother will soon be proven innocent.

In early February, his current wife Joana Sanz visited Alves in prison and said: "I will not leave Alves alone at the worst moment of his life." But then the Spanish model announced that she had cut ties with Alves and had moved out of the house in Barcelona - a property owned by the former Barca defender.

Dana Dinorah, who was married to Alves from 2008 to 2011, also defended her ex-husband, saying the Brazilian defender would never do such a thing. "I have known Alves for 22 years and he would never do this. The family is worried because they want to see Alves, but have not been able to approach him," she said.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo said the support from relatives was a "boost" for Alves as the situation became more complicated. Security cameras at the Sutton nightclub recorded the 23-year-old woman crying and injuring her knee on the night she accused Alves of sexual assault.

Video footage shows Dani Avles near the victim at the time of the incident.

The video shows Dani Alves (wearing the hat the MC is pointing to) near the victim when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, Alves’ lawyer, Cristobal Martell, argued that the woman had no marks or injuries consistent with rape or force as she alleged. The lawyer said a medical report from the hospital clinic the woman visited the morning after the incident proved that the two had consensual sex.

Alves's lawyer also argued that the footage from the nightclub's security cameras contradicted the 23-year-old's testimony. Martell also explained that her knee injury was the result of consensual sex in a small bathroom. Based on these arguments, Martell once again questioned the truth of the complainant's testimony and asked that Alves be released on bail.
