MB Group completes selection of strategic partner for MBCambodia

ANTD.VN - MB Group and SBI Shinsei Bank (Japan) signed a capital transfer contract with MB Cambodia Public Bank Limited (MBCambodia) in early April.

Under the contract, MB Group will hold a 51% stake in MBCambodia and transfer the remaining 49% to SBI Shinsei Bank (Japan). The share acquisition process will be completed after receiving approval from regulatory authorities in Cambodia and Vietnam.

Previously, in January 2023, MBCambodia was granted a license by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia (MOC) to upgrade and convert the MB Cambodia branch into a commercial bank under the name MBCambodia.

On the MB Group side, the group representative expects MBCambodia to contribute to the socio-economic development of Cambodia, and at the same time, help MB gradually realize its strategic goal of becoming a digital enterprise, a leading financial group, in the Top 3 markets in terms of efficiency and aiming for the Top in Asia.
