The bidding period for the Dau Giay expressway project has been postponed.

The bidding and selection of investors for the expressway project is now expected to take place after the Lunar New Year instead of in January 2025 as originally planned.


Speaking to the Traffic Newspaper, a representative of the Thang Long Project Management Board said that the bidding period for evaluating bids and selecting an investor for the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project will be postponed until after the Lunar New Year 2025.

"The reason is that the project is currently under review, and the total investment is being adjusted to align with actual market prices and interest rates in order to arrive at the most objective and realistic financial plan (toll collection plan)."

"The unit will strive to complete the procedures and start the project in the first quarter of 2025," this person informed.

The project management unit is finalizing procedures and striving to start construction of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu project in the first quarter of 2025 (Illustrative image).

Previously, the Thang Long Project Management Board had issued the tender documents on the National Online Bidding System. According to the initial plan, the bid opening and evaluation process was scheduled to take place in the first week of January 2025.

According to the plan approved by the Ministry of Transport , the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project will be invested under the PPP method, with a total length of over 60km.

The starting point is at Km 0+000 at the intersection with National Highway 1, connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province.

The endpoint is at Km 60+243.83 (at the end of the intersection with National Highway 20), connecting with the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) - Bao Loc ( Lam Dong ) Expressway construction project, located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.

In Phase 1, the project was invested in with geometric elements (plan and profile) meeting the standards of a Class 100 highway, with a scale of 4 lanes and a roadbed width of 17m.

At locations involving weak soil treatment, high excavation and embankment of roadbeds, interchange areas, emergency stopping sections, and bridge structures on the expressway, the cross-section design follows the scale of the completed phase with a roadbed width of 24.75m.
