Russia's Investigative Committee said it found photos of a Ukrainian postage stamp and camouflaged soldiers carrying the flag of the Eastern European country on the mobile phone of one of the suspects, TASS news agency reported.

In addition, according to investigators, the Crocus City Hall theater was chosen as the target for the attack based on instructions from the person who dealt with the terrorists.

According to the commission, one defendant confirmed that: “On the morning of February 24, marking two years since Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine, one of the accomplices communicated online with the trader, who sent photos of the entrance and driveway of Crocus City Hall.”

The Russian Investigative Committee considers this evidence of a possible connection between the attack in Moscow and the special military operation in Ukraine.

A day earlier, speaking at the 12th Congress of the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions, President Vladimir Putin said that, based on the investigators' report, there is reason to believe that the main goal of the masterminds behind the terrorist attack was to undermine the unity of the Russian people.

According to President Putin, "the fundamental, main condition for Russia's success" is the spirit of unity of the country's multi-ethnic society.

According to the latest figures, the terrorist attack that occurred at Crocus City Hall theater on the evening of March 22 left 144 people dead and 551 injured.

So far, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested 14 suspects suspected of assisting in the implementation of the terrorist attack plan, of which 4 suspects directly carrying out the attack have been charged with terrorism.
