(To Quoc) - On November 4, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong chaired a meeting with the Department of Cinema and related units to listen to a report on the preparations for the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII).
With the slogan Cinema: Creativity - Take Off", the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival will take place from November 7 to 11, 2024 with many attractive and exciting programs: Competition films; World Cinema Panorama Program; Focus on Cinema of a Country; Collection of Contemporary Vietnamese Films; Film Project Market; Exhibition; Workshop, artist exchange, city tour...
The opening ceremony of the Film Festival will take place on the evening of November 7; the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the Film Festival will take place on the evening of November 11 at the Ho Guom Theater, 40 Hang Bai, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Head of the Steering Committee of the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) chaired the meeting.
Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Department of Cinema Vi Kien Thanh said that up to this point, the documents related to the organization of the Film Festival have been basically completed. The Organizing Committee has selected 117 films to participate in the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (including 65 foreign films and 52 Vietnamese films). All films have been assessed for content and granted a Film Classification License.
In particular, the long film competition program includes 10 films (9 foreign films, 1 Vietnamese film); the short film competition program includes 19 films (11 foreign films, 8 Vietnamese short films); the World Cinema Panorama program includes 38 films, including 23 long films and 15 short films from cinemas around the world; the Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program includes 34 films, including 12 short films (documentaries, animations); 22 feature films; the National Cinema Focus Program: "German Cinema" includes 7 films. In particular, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, HANIFF VII will have the first Hanoi Film Program, which will screen 9 Vietnamese films.
The Organizing Committee also worked with the National Cinema Center; BHD Pham Ngoc Thach; CGV Nguyen Chi Thanh to organize screening locations for the jury and free screenings for the audience.
Regarding the reception and guests, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh said: the plan has been completed and ready, there are about 100 international delegates who are honored guests, Advisory Board, Jury, artists with films in competition, films shown in the panorama program, delegates attending the Film Project Market... Domestically, it is expected that there will be about more than 600 delegates including People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, artists with films in competition and films shown in the programs of the Film Festival; representatives of Central and Hanoi Departments, Ministries, branches...

At the meeting, members of the Organizing Committee in charge of each sub-committee reported on the progress of assigned tasks, as well as contents related to the preparation for HANIFF VII.
Reporting on the preparations for the red carpet, opening and closing ceremonies, a representative of Corex Business Solutions Joint Stock Company said: "Along with the unique and attractive sideline activities, one of the highlights of this year's Film Festival is the red carpet, opening and closing ceremonies. To ensure the success of these programs, Corex has coordinated with the Department of Cinema to develop the script and stage framework of the program, ensuring that the program will fully and most strongly demonstrate the unique characteristics of the Hanoi International Film Festival.
Regarding the red carpet area, there will be spaces such as: reception area, assembly area, photo area, interview area... These spaces are designed by the Organizing Committee with the main color tone of orange and black - the brand color of the Hanoi International Film Festival. In addition, in the reception hall space, there will be a band performing for delegates and guests to enjoy. As for the opening and closing ceremony stages, Corex is currently rushing to complete the program script to ensure that the event takes place on schedule, in line with the spirit of cinema as well as introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends."
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong affirmed that with its abundant creative potential, the Hanoi International Film Festival is an important destination for domestic and international filmmakers to exchange, cooperate, promote creative and humanistic cinematic works, discover and honor new cinematic talents. At the same time, it creates momentum to promote the development of the Vietnamese film industry. This is not only an event for cinema but also contributes significantly to promoting the image of a safe, friendly, hospitable and integrated Vietnam.

Accordingly, based on the comments at the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that the time for the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival is not much, only a few days left, so the Department of Cinema together with members of the Organizing Committee and sub-committees need to be proactive and active in implementing the assigned tasks. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to the preparation for the red carpet program, opening and closing ceremony, ensuring the artistic, solemn, safe, scientific and effective elements. "This is one of the marks and creates a spreading effect for the Vietnamese cinema event in particular, the world in general. At the same time, through these events, we can also demonstrate the warmth and hospitality of Vietnam towards the international delegates and guests attending the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival" - Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said.
In addition, the Deputy Minister also suggested that communication and promotion activities must be promoted, innovated and created. Security, order and safety for destinations... must be ensured at the highest level to ensure that the Film Festival will be attractive and most effective, contributing to enhancing the brand of the Hanoi International Film Festival, promoting the image of the country and the capital Hanoi - the heart of the country to the film industry, domestic and international audiences.../.
