Iran's "Hard Shell" wins best feature film

On the evening of November 11, in Hanoi , the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) 2024 was closed. The Organizing Committee awarded 10 awards to outstanding films, actors, and directors.

Attending the event were Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, leaders of departments, ministries, agencies, organizations and Hanoi city, along with many domestic and international artists, filmmakers, and film lovers.

Create a warm artistic atmosphere

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Department of Cinema Vi Kien Thanh said that from November 7-11, with many film programs and exciting and attractive activities, the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival left a strong impression on international and Vietnamese film artists, creating a warm artistic atmosphere for the capital's audience and a desire for creativity for Vietnamese and international film artists.

With the theme "Cinema: Creativity - Take Off", the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival affirms its prestige and is a symbol of the creative and integrated spirit of Vietnamese cinema and 51 cinemas in the world with an increasingly professional scale and organization, while creating a unique mark of a Film Festival held in the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee jointly organized a solemn film event with the participation of 800 Vietnamese and international delegates; 117 films from 51 countries and territories were screened at 3 cinema complexes: National Cinema Center, BHD, CGV.

Specialized activities such as two seminars "Spotlight on German cinema", seminar "Development of film production exploiting historical themes and adaptations from literary works", exhibition "Vietnam's heritages recognized by UNESCO - Experience through cinema footage", film production project market, exchange sessions between film crew artists and audiences before or after screenings at theaters have created a vibrant, colorful atmosphere, attracting a large audience of Hanoi audiences and international tourists, contributing to the exchange and learning between Vietnamese and international filmmakers, promoting the development of tourism in the capital Hanoi and Vietnam.

Many prestigious awards

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented awards to outstanding films, actors and directors.

In which, Best Feature Film was awarded to the film "Hard Shell" of Iran; Best Short Film: Film "A Bird Flew" of Colombia.

Best Director for a Feature Film: Director Majid-Reza Mostafavi, "Hard Shell" from Iran; Best Actor for a Feature Film: Actor Payman Maadi, "Hard Shell" from Iran; Best Actress for a Feature Film: Actress Tiina Tauraite, "8 Views of Lake Biwa" from Estonia.

Jury Prize for Feature Film: Estonian film "8 Views of Lake Biwa".

Best Short Film Director: Director Nasim Forough, Iran's "Typesetter."

Promising young actor (18 to 35 years old): Actress Ngoc Xuan, Vietnamese film "Once Upon a Love story".

Jury Prize for Short Film: "The Rubber Tappers" from Cambodia.

Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet) Award for Feature Film: "Liar" (Liar) from the Russian Federation.

The Organizing Committee awarded the Vietnamese Film Award to the audience in the "Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program" at the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival to the film "Our Blossom" - a cooperation film between Vietnam and Hungary.

The First Prize of the Film Project Market category was awarded to the Project "Red lights blue angels" by director Afsana Mimi (Bangladesh). The Jury Prize of the Film Project Market was awarded to the Project "Rahma" by director Faysal Soysal (Türkiye).

The Hanoi People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to directors and screenwriters of films about Hanoi, who contributed to the socio-economic development of the capital, participated in and responded to the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival, including: People's Artist Viet Huong (Le Thi Bang Huong), director of the film "Ngan nam senh phach" produced by Sao Khue Film Studio; Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son, director of the film "Dao, pho and piano" produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I; Meritorious Artist Nguyen Duc Viet, director of the film "Hong Ha nu si" produced by Nam Phuong Media Company Limited; Nguyen Thi Hong Ngát, screenwriter of the film "Hong Ha nu si" produced by Nam Phuong Media Company Limited.
