The 2024 National Music Festival will take place from November 17 in Ninh Binh

(NADS) - Implementing the Resolution of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Musicians' Association, 8th session, 10th term (2020 - 2025) on organizing the 2024 National Music Festival nationwide. With the consent of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, the Vietnam Musicians' Association coordinated with Ninh Binh province to organize the 2024 National Music Festival in Ninh Binh city, Ninh Binh province.

The festival promises to bring together many unique works imbued with local culture.

The Music Festival is a festival of musicians, artists and music lovers held in regions across the country, responding to the Ninh Binh Tourism Festival Week in 2024 and aiming to welcome the 11th National Congress (term 2025 - 2030). The festival aims to honor creative talents in the field of music composition and performance, encourage creativity and advancement in musical activities, and is an opportunity for musicians and artists in the region and the whole country to meet, exchange professional experiences, exchange newly composed musical works, and introduce regional cultural identities across the country. The festival hopes to contribute to promoting music composition and performance activities, meeting the increasing demand for art enjoyment of the public in the new era.

This Music Festival has the participation of delegates from the Associations, Vietnamese Musicians' Unions and artists from the following provinces and cities: Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, the Military Musicians' Union and Ninh Binh province.

National Music Festival - 2024 includes 2 areas:

1. The Festival introduces new works composed in 2023 and 2024 by musicians who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association. The genres of works participating in the Festival include songs or ensembles, instrumental solos.

2. Vietnamese Voice and Instrumental Solo Festival . This is a competition of outstanding vocal artists and instrumental soloists. The genre of the performance participating in the Festival is a song or solo work.

The works performed in the Festival are Vietnamese works chosen by the singer or artist. Artists participating in the Festival, whether members or non-members of the Vietnam Musicians Association, are selected by the association to participate.

The festival will introduce more than 140 musical performances, including 120 newly composed works and more than 20 artists competing in vocal and instrumental solo performances. The works and performances participating in the festival focus on praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the Fatherland and the theme of Vietnam's sea and islands; achievements and the new rural construction movement in our country today, the land and people of Ninh Binh, rich in revolutionary traditions and unique cultural traditions. Many works carry the folk music of regions, especially the folk music of ethnic groups in the region.

The festival takes place from November 17 to November 20, 2024 at Pham Thi Tran Theater (Ninh Binh Provincial Cultural Center), Address: No. 65, Le Dai Hanh, Thanh Binh Ward, Ninh Binh City.

Main activities of the Festival:

- Offering incense at the temples of King Dinh and King Le (4:00 p.m., November 17, 2024).

- Competition on November 17, 18, 19, 2024; Opening Ceremony: 8:00 p.m. on November 17, 2024 and Closing and Award Ceremony: 7:30 p.m. on November 20, 2023, expected to be broadcast live on NBTV channel and digital platforms of Ninh Binh Radio and Television Station and Vietnam Musicians Association.
