(NADS) - On the morning of November 12, at Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh City, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in collaboration with the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee and the Ninh Binh Literature and Arts Association (VHNT) opened the exhibition and awarded the 26th Red River Delta Art Photography Festival with the theme "Red River Delta Culture - A Place of Convergence and Development".
Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, there were journalist, artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Association, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, Head of the Organizing Committee; artist Le Nguyen, Vice President, Chairman of the Association's Art Council; artist Ha Huu Duc, member of the Association's Executive Committee, Director of the Vietnam Center for Archives and Exhibitions of Artistic Photography; artist Nguyen Xuan Chinh, member of the Association's Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Creation - Exhibition Committee, Chairman of the Jury; artist Nguyen Duc Dieu, Head of the Organizing - Emulation - Member Committee; journalist, artist Pham Tien Dung, member of the Theory and Criticism Committee, former Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; artist Nguyen Tat Be; artist Nguyen Quang Tuan; artist Hoang Hai Thinh, members of the Jury.
On the side of Ninh Binh province delegates, there were comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Tong Quang Thin, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Mai Hoa, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Do Viet Anh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and comrades: Poet Nguyen Dang Hao, Co-Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office; Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Information and Communications, Provincial Literature and Arts Association.
Along with that, there were representatives of departments, branches, the Association of Literature and Arts, and photographers from provinces and cities in 9 provinces of the Red River Delta whose works were selected for exhibition and won prizes.
The 26th Red River Delta Art Photography Festival is an event within the series of activities of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024, and is also a major annual cultural activity of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and photographers from 9 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region including: Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh and Ninh Binh.
In his opening speech, journalist - photographer Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographers, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that since the launch of the contest, the Organizing Committee has received 1,616 works, including 1,486 single photos and 130 photo sets from 281 authors from 9 provinces in the Red River Delta region. Of these, nearly 100 photographers are Central members, not counting the large number of freelance photographers of all ages, including many famous artists who are among the top in the country.
At this year's Festival, the Organizing Committee selected and introduced to the public 135 artistic photography works by 83 professional and amateur authors from provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region.
Each work participating in the Festival is a message of life from the soul, feelings and responsibilities of artists and soldiers on the cultural and artistic front, aiming to continuously build and develop advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.
Evaluating the quality of this year's winning photos, journalist and artist Ho Sy Minh emphasized that many young authors participated in this festival, with many creative compositions, many new and impressive camera angles, creating many outstanding and unique works for the contest, including the work: "Quan Xuyen communal house wrestling festival, Hung Yen" by author Nguyen Khac Hao (Hung Yen) with good techniques and shooting moments, creatively applying artistic techniques, creating an impression on viewers. Or the work "The cradle of a thousand quan ho songs" by author Nguyen Van Diep (Bac Ninh) has creativity in composition, creating a different perspective.
Notably, the work “Vietnam Navy, regular, elite, modern” by author Nguyen Viet Rung (Hai Phong) has shown that culture is an endogenous strength to create will, action, in all activities, study, training, serving the country, people, defeating all enemies, with the discovery of new creative perspectives... and many other works in the award and exhibition of the Festival have shown the generality, representing many aspects of social life such as national defense, security, labor production, community health care, preserving the identity of traditional cultural festivals, promoting tourism potential, beautiful landscapes in the Red River Delta region.
In the final result, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 Gold medal to the work: "Vietnam Navy, regular, elite, modern" by author Nguyen Viet Rung (Hai Phong); awarded 3 Silver medals to the authors: Nguyen Van Diep (Bac Ninh) with the work: "The cradle of a thousand quan ho songs"; Nguyen Khac Hao (Hung Yen) with the work: "The festival of wrestling in Quan Xuyen village, Hung Yen and Vu Duc Phuong (Ninh Binh) with the work: "Returning to avoid storms"; 4 Bronze medals and 6 Encouragement prizes went to the authors in the localities: Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Thai Binh.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 team prizes to the Literature and Arts Association of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city; and awarded the "For the cause of Vietnamese Photography" Medal to 4 individuals.
The 26th Red River Delta Art Photography Festival, Ninh Binh 2024 with the theme "Red River Delta Culture - A Place of Convergence and Development" is an important event, aiming to introduce to the public works of artistic photography reflecting the beauty of nature, country, people, economic achievements, science and technology, social security, national defense - security, enhancing international exchange and integration, at the same time summarizing and evaluating the creative artistic achievements of the photography team in the region.
