At the time of survey at 2:00 p.m. on October 30, the price of 9999 round gold rings listed at DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group was at VND88.3 - 89.3 million/tael (buy - sell), the highest ever. This price is also VND300,000/tael higher than the current price of SJC gold bars, which is at VND87 - 89 million/tael (buy - sell).
This is the first time in history that the price of gold rings has exceeded the price of SJC gold bars. This development occurred in the context that the price of SJC gold bars is being set by the State Bank to stabilize the market, while the price of gold rings fluctuates according to world prices.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau, the price of gold rings is at 87.98 - 88.98 million VND/tael (buy - sell), only 20,000 VND/tael lower than the price of SJC gold bars.

According to experts, the recent sharp increase in the price of gold rings is due to the impact of world prices. Meanwhile, the world gold price is also affected by geopolitical conflicts, the US presidential election and the possibility of the Fed changing interest rates in a downward direction.
The selling price of SJC gold at 4 State-owned commercial banks (Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and Vietinbank) also remained at VND89 million/tael. On the morning of October 30, the world gold price converted to the bank USD price was nearly VND86.1 million/tael, including taxes and fees, about VND2.9 million/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
On the world gold market, the closing price of gold in New York on the night of October 29 jumped to 2,774.6 USD/ounce, up 32.8 USD compared to the previous session. The spot gold price on the Kitco floor on the morning of October 30 (Vietnam time) fell to 2,755.5 USD/ounce. This price after conversion is equivalent to 84.5 million VND/tael, 4.5 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold and about 4.2 million VND/tael lower than 9999 ring gold.
The world gold price officially reached a new peak on the night of October 29 before falling again this morning even though the USD price continued to increase. The DXY index - measuring the greenback's fluctuations compared to 6 major currencies - increased to 104.5 points compared to 103.8 points in the previous session. Experts said that the looming inflation and low global interest rates continue to support gold even though the price has had a long series of days of increase. In particular, the US presidential election is coming to an end with many fierce developments, which is also a factor pushing money flow to gold.
