Kim Son urgently constructs the Thai Van station access road

Pointing to the road in front of his pond, Mr. Tran Van Sy in Tan Van village 2, Kim Son commune, Bao Yen district said: The road does not run through my family's garden land but follows the bank of the pond, 5 m wide, nearly 100 m long, in total, the family donated nearly 500 m2 of pond.

Mr. Sy led us to the dug-up road, which used to be the family pond, and confided: It's a pity, even my wife didn't understand it at first. After that, the family had a meeting, and I analyzed that the most important thing is that having a road makes daily travel safer, first of all safe for the family, safe for the neighbors. Then when harvesting forest products, trucks can go all the way to the foot of the hill, no longer having to hire porters to the gathering point on the main road, so the profit is higher. Or simply like when buying and selling bags of rice, corn, chickens or pigs, the truck also goes right to the yard, avoiding the situation where agricultural products deteriorate due to not being consumed in time, being forced to lower prices...

The road that Mr. Sy's family and dozens of households in Tan Van village 2 donated their land and crops to is the Thai Van station access road, which has been completely newly opened. In the past and even now, almost every household living along the railway section running through the area has opened a path to "climb" over the railway, the people here still say that it is "opening a gate" to make a way for their family to travel. Needless to say, everyone knows how great the potential risk of traffic accidents is, not to mention the inconvenience in daily life, transporting goods, agricultural and forestry products.

Based on the policy and direction of the railway industry and traffic safety committees at all levels on completely eliminating level crossings and self-opened paths across railways, Kim Son commune has promptly implemented the construction of this service road. In December 2024, the road officially started construction.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Secretary of the Kim Son Commune Party Committee, said: Although funding has not been allocated yet, with the motto of ensuring safety and convenience for people as soon as possible, the commune has immediately implemented the necessary procedures to construct the feeder road, selected a capable and experienced contractor, and strived to complete the project by the end of April 2025.

The Thai Van station feeder road mainly passes through Tan Van village 2. Before implementing the construction of the road, the commune and village had propagated and disseminated in many meetings the viewpoints and policies of the State, especially the issue of land clearance. Working groups were established, going to each house to mobilize donations of land, crops, and assets on the land. Like Mr. Tran Van Sy's family, the majority of households where the road runs through voluntarily donated their family land for the construction of the road, a total of 21 households donated land, with about 17,000 m2 . Of which, Mr. Ta Van Quang's family donated about 1,300 m2 ; households: Lam Kim Hung, Lam Bang Sam, Hoang Thi Tinh, Tran Trung Nghia, Hoang Van Tuan, Lam Ngoc Anh donated about 1,000 m2 each .

Together with Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, to inspect the entire length of the project, we noticed that the construction terrain was diverse and complicated, the section through high hills had to be leveled and lowered by tens of meters, the section through ponds had to be filled; some places had rocks, some places had mud... Wherever we went, the Secretary of the Commune Party Committee talked in detail about each section of the road, what kind of land it passed through, whose land it belonged to, how many square meters that house donated; the difficulties and hardships in propaganda and mobilization work. Not everyone understood, sympathized, and shared to be willing to donate land, because "an inch of land is an inch of gold", especially for residential land, garden land, and ponds. After a period of persistent mobilization and persuasion, the people "understood" and voluntarily donated land...

Right from the beginning of the implementation, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune determined that the implementation would be carried out to the extent that the people agreed, while constructing, they would mobilize, only then would the road be completed soon, and the people would soon benefit from the project.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Secretary of Kim Son Commune Party Committee.

Every day, the existing route becomes clearer, we are very excited. Not only does it ensure traffic safety, make it more convenient to transport goods, but the value of our land and plots of land is also increased.

Mr. Tran Van Sy, village 2 Tan Van, Kim Son commune, Bao Yen district.

When the Thai Van station feeder road is completed and put into use, the spontaneous railway crossings and openings in Kim Son commune will basically be resolved. Kim Son's approach can be a measure and lesson for other localities in implementing this policy.
