The conference was attended by 63 tax departments of provinces and centrally-run cities and functional units under the General Department of Taxation.
Speaking at the conference, a representative of the Department of Debt Management and Tax Enforcement (General Department of Taxation) said that, implementing the debt collection work of the tax sector, the estimated accumulated debt collection by the end of August 2024 of the entire tax sector increased by 26% compared to the same period last year. This shows that the tax debt collection situation has made a lot of progress.
In order to implement debt collection, in recent times, the General Department of Taxation has resolutely directed local tax departments to, in addition to synchronously implementing enforcement measures, promote the upgrading of applications to support tax debt collection, such as upgrading many versions of information technology applications, including upgrading the functions of the Debt Management and Tax Debt Enforcement subsystem on the Centralized Tax Management application system (TMS), promoting the development of a number of applications such as the application of virtual assistant technology in debt management, on eTax mobile and the measure of temporary suspension of exit.
Based on the assessment of the tax debt situation, to strengthen the management and effective collection of tax debts, Deputy General Director Dang Ngoc Minh requested the Department of Debt Management and Tax Debt Enforcement (General Department of Taxation) to continue to closely coordinate with local tax departments to resolutely apply all tax debt enforcement measures to taxpayers who are subject to enforcement measures.
Along with that, tax authorities must continue to review and detect false debts, virtual debts, especially new debts arising after the system closes the books for timely handling, and at the same time increase the application of temporary exit suspension measures for cases of intentional tax debt delay after the tax authorities have applied reminders and warnings.
Deputy General Director Dang Ngoc Minh noted that the Department of Debt Management and Tax Debt Enforcement continues to closely coordinate with local tax departments to propose groups of solutions for effective tax debt collection, in which special attention must be paid to the application of automation, digitalization and access to big data of the tax sector applied to debt management and tax debt enforcement.
