On the morning of March 16, the 2nd Phan Thiet City Police Billiards Open 2024 took place at Billiards 86 Club, Le Duan Street, Phan Thiet City. Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Provincial Police, Agribank Binh Thuan, Binh Thuan Newspaper and participating units.
At the opening ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Sau - Deputy Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech : The 2nd Phan Thiet City Police Billiards Open Tournament aims to develop the physical education and sports movement in Phan Thiet City Police, meeting the cultural and spiritual enjoyment needs of officers and soldiers; contributing to the successful implementation of assigned tasks. Creating conditions for leaders and officers and soldiers with talent in Billiards to exchange, learn, strengthen solidarity and cohesion.
The tournament had 62 athletes who were leaders of the Provincial Police, leaders of units inside and outside the industry, police of wards, communes, and professional teams. Each unit had 1 pair of athletes, including 1 commander and 1 officer. For the leader's tournament, each pair of athletes consisted of 2 leaders.
Doubles Billiards is a type of competition in pairs, 2 players from 1 team will take turns to score 1 point/shot/player and the round ends when 1 player fails to score. At that time, the right to compete will belong to the opponent's pair of players. The quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals will be played in a knockout format. In the semi-finals and quarter-finals, each match is for 40 points, with no limit on the number of rounds.
The tournament will take place on March 16-17 and close at Phan Thiet City Police Station.
