Prosecution of drug-using suspect who insulted and attacked traffic police

On October 11, information from Hai Phong Police said that Hong Bang District Police (Hai Phong City) issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain suspect Nguyen Hoang Nam (38 years old, residing at 2/21, Nguyen Huu Tue Street, Gia Vien Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City), to investigate the act of resisting a person on duty.

Previously, at 2:40 p.m. on September 26, the working group of the Traffic Police Team of Hong Bang District Police, while on patrol duty, inspected and handled violations on Minh Khai Street, discovered a car with license plate 15A-692.19 driven by Vu Van Manh (34 years old, residing in An Dong Commune, An Duong District, Hai Phong City), carrying Nguyen Hoang Nam, entering a prohibited road.

When the task force stopped the car for inspection, Nam resisted, insulted, and attacked the traffic police on duty.

Immediately after attacking the traffic police, Nam was subdued and taken to Hoang Van Thu Ward Police Station for processing. Searching the car, the Hong Bang District Police Department discovered a small package of drugs. Drug test results showed that both Nam and Manh tested positive for drugs.

Currently, Hong Bang District Police have prosecuted defendant Nguyen Hoang Nam; at the same time, administratively fined Mr. Vu Van Manh for driving on a prohibited road and driving on the road with drugs in his body.
