On June 18, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phuoc An bridge connecting Phu My town (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) and Nhon Trach district (Dong Nai). Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Phuoc An Bridge project is a particularly important project connecting the entire Cai Mep - Thi Vai port system with the Southeast and Southwest regions, with a total route length of more than 4.3km.
The total investment of the project is more than 4,800 billion VND, of which the Central Government supports 2,000 billion VND, the rest is from the budget of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, said that this is a key project that the Party Committee, government and people of the province have devoted much effort to pursuing and determined to implement over the past time. Since the policy was approved in 2009, generations of leaders of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province have always made every effort, sought solutions, and sought support from the Central Government to promote the project.
The completion of Phuoc An Bridge will connect inter-regional expressways such as Ben Luc - Long Thanh, shortening the distance of transporting goods to the Southwest region by nearly 30km and vice versa. At the same time, it will help reduce the load on National Highway 51.

Along with the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway project, the construction of the Phuoc An Bridge project will form two traffic axes connecting the East and West of the Southern Key Economic Zone. These are important "links" connecting the economic veins, awakening the potential of the province. Gradually creating a synchronous, modern, interconnected, and smooth traffic network, enhancing regional connectivity.
