(CPV) - Within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the afternoon of November 21, in the capital Phnom Penh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodian National Assembly administrative building.

This is a symbolic project of the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, presented by the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the Party, State and people of Cambodia during the State visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in July 2017 and started construction in December 2021.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this event is a shared joy for the two National Assemblies and people of the two countries. According to the National Assembly Chairman, Vietnam and Cambodia are two close neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional relationship, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries and has become a priceless common asset of the two nations. The relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cambodian National Assembly has developed well on both bilateral and multilateral levels, especially after the two National Assemblies signed and implemented the Cooperation Agreement in 2022, contributing positively to the development of the relationship between the two countries.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his gratitude to the Cambodian National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary, and the agencies and organizations of the two countries for their close and effective coordination in the process of designing, constructing and completing the building to meet the requirements of technical and architectural standards. The construction units, engineers and construction workers have contributed their efforts, enthusiasm and intelligence, working day and night regardless of difficulties to inaugurate and soon put the building into use.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized: "The building's inauguration, early operation and effective use will support the Cambodian National Assembly to better perform its functions and tasks of representing the will and aspirations of the people, contributing to the building of an increasingly prosperous and prosperous Cambodia. I wish the relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies to be continuously strengthened and developed comprehensively, sustainably and long-term."
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary expressed her deepest gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their support and aid for the construction of the Cambodian National Assembly Administrative Building. She affirmed that this is a symbol of the long-standing friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam and is also a practical demonstration of the spirit of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability” between the two countries.
National Assembly President Khuon Sudary said that this new administrative building has supplemented and met the practical needs of the Cambodian National Assembly, especially contributing to the need for governance reform and human resource development.

* Earlier in the afternoon of the same day, in the capital Phnom Penh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam laid wreaths at the Independence Monument, the statue of the late King Norodom Sihanouk and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument - a symbol of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, as a tribute to Vietnamese soldiers who performed their noble international duty, helping the Cambodian people escape the Pol Pot genocide regime. The Friendship Monument also shows Vietnam's gratitude for Cambodia's assistance in the struggle for national reunification.
| After nearly 36 months of construction, in November 2024, the Cambodian National Assembly administrative building was completed and officially handed over to the functional units for management and use. The project is large-scale, 12 floors high and 2 basements for parking. Overcoming all difficulties, the project was completed, ensuring absolute safety and meeting the requirements of progress, quality and aesthetics. |
