Opening of the 2nd Political Theory Training Course for New Party Members and Outstanding Masses in 2024

On the morning of November 9, 2024, the Academy of Journalism and Communication held the opening ceremony of the second Political Theory Training Course for new Party members and outstanding masses in 2024.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, there were comrade Ngo Tuan Nghia, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Party Committee's Propaganda Department; comrade Nguyen Tien Dong, Deputy Head of the Party Committee's Organization Department; comrade Ha Van Luyen, Deputy Chief of the Party Committee's Office.

On the side of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duc Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Vice President of the Academy; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Bao, senior lecturer, former Head of the Department of Ho Chi Minh Thought; Comrade Pham Tuyen, member of the Party Executive Committee, Chief of the Office of the Party - Mass Organizations - University Council; and all students attending. In his opening speech at the Ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duc Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, Chairman of the University Council emphasized that one of the important stages of Party building is building a contingent of Party members. Therefore, regularly taking care of and fostering awareness of the Party for new Party members and outstanding masses is one of the extremely important tasks in Party building, contributing to the development and improvement of the quality and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations and the contingent of cadres and Party members, ensuring the inheritance and development of the Party.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Duc Ngoc, Secretary of the Academy Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council delivered the opening speech at the Ceremony.

Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duc Ngoc affirmed that in order to carry out the above important task, it is necessary to foster political theory for new Party members and equip the elite masses with basic knowledge about the Party, understand the Party's revolutionary leadership process, the glorious victories of the Vietnamese revolution under the Party's leadership, and gain a deeper understanding of the nature, purpose, and principles of the Party's operation. On that basis, build for yourself the style and ethics of a Party member, determine the right motivation to strive to join the Party, build a good working direction, study and work well to soon become an official Party member and soon be qualified to become a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He also suggested that students need to determine the right, clear, modest, and open-minded motivation to study, make a study plan, strive, and make efforts to practice to become an official member of the Communist Party of Vietnam; as well as be worthy of standing in the ranks of the Party .

Representing the students attending the class, comrade Cao Van Son, a probationary party member of the Party History Department, spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Cao Van Son, a probationary Party member of the Party History Department, said: " I am proud to be a student of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, studying under the roof of the Party School - a school with a glorious history of 63 years accompanying the development of the country. I have constantly improved myself, always been absolutely loyal to the Party's revolutionary ideals, trained my mettle, built revolutionary ideals ; always steadfast in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; always constantly studying, practicing, striving to become an excellent member and student; proactively and actively participating in movements and activities deployed by the Youth Union at all levels, contributing my small part to enriching the achievements of Vietnamese youth in the period of national innovation and integration". Participating in the course, students will study 10 basic contents according to the program prescribed by the Central Propaganda Department , including: (1) Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought - the ideological foundation and guideline for the actions of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution; (2) National independence associated with socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam; (3) The Party's socio-economic development guidelines; (4) Strengthening national defense and security, firmly protecting the homeland, maintaining a peaceful environment, political stability, order and social safety; (5) Promoting the strength of the entire nation, socialist democracy, building and perfecting the socialist rule of law state; (6) Principles of organization and operation of the Party and Party building work at the grassroots level; (7) Strengthening Party building and rectification; (8) Developing education and training, science and technology; building and developing Vietnamese culture and people; resource management, environmental protection; (9) Proactively and actively integrating internationally; (10) Striving and training to be worthy of being a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Political Theory Awareness Training Class for the elite masses will study 6 basic contents according to the program prescribed by the Central Propaganda Department, which are: (1) Striving to become a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; (2) Brief history of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; (3) Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh ; (4) Platform for national construction in the transitional period to socialism ; (5) Basic contents of the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; (6) Conditions and criteria for students to join the Party today .
