The development of new media and the infiltration of foreign ideological trends are opening up many avenues for hostile forces to increase their subversive activities.
In the current context, any manifestation of negligence, loss of vigilance, compromise, political immaturity, or loosening of the ideological security front can lead to unpredictable consequences.
That is the opinion of Associate Professor-Doctor Pham Minh Son, Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, at the National Scientific Conference with the theme "The issue of ensuring ideological security in Vietnam under current conditions."
The workshop took place on December 12, organized by the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda and the People's Public Security Academy.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son, the world situation is forecast to continue to develop complicatedly, with many obstacles to economic recovery and development, leading to certain challenges in ensuring social security and life in the country.
Along with that, the development of new media, especially social networks, the infiltration of bourgeois ideological trends, foreign cultural manifestations in the process of Vietnam's international integration... are also opening up many paths and measures for hostile and reactionary forces to increase their sabotage activities under sophisticated and sinister covers, posing many challenges to the work of ensuring ideological security in the coming time.
Therefore, Mr. Pham Minh Son said that the workshop is of great significance, serving as a forum for experts and scholars to propose orientations, tasks, solutions and recommendations to the Party, the State, management agencies and specialized forces in charge of ensuring ideological security, contributing to the continued effective implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the Politburo (12th tenure) on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation.
Sharing the same view, Professor-Doctor Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized that ideological security is one of the core issues of political security and national security.
In every revolutionary stage, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always paid special attention to the work of protecting the Party, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and ensuring security in the ideological field. Policies and orientations on ensuring national ideological security have been expressed consistently and have been innovated in content and form to suit practical requirements through documents of congresses, resolutions, directives, plans, and strategies of the Party and State...
“The above reality shows that continuing to promote ideological security in Vietnam under current conditions is a very urgent requirement. The results of the workshop will provide useful scientific arguments for ensuring ideological security in Vietnam under current conditions,” said Mr. Le Van Loi./.
