This is the first charter flight bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa province, after 3 years of flights from this country being suspended due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
To welcome back Russian visitors, Khanh Hoa province created highlights with water spraying to form a welcome gate, giving souvenirs to passengers, and performing traditional lion dances.
Tourists will stay locally for 5 nights or more, mainly in 3-5 star hotels and follow a package tour program, visiting famous places in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
Previously, Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited announced operating charter flights connecting 11 Russian cities to Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa province from March 17.
11 cities connecting to Khanh Hoa include Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Kabarovsk, Vladivostok, Barnaul, Krasnojarsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveschensk with an expected flight frequency of 12 flights in March; 50 - 55 flights from April to June and increasing to 90 - 100 flights from July.
In the first 3 months of the year, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa reached more than 2.5 million, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors accounted for more than half.
Russia used to be a major tourist market for Khanh Hoa. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, direct flights from this country to Khanh Hoa have stopped since early 2022. In the past, Russian tourists who wanted to travel to Khanh Hoa had to transit through several countries such as Kazakhstan and China.
