On December 17, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Government - Party Bloc held a conference to review Party building work in 2024; and at the same time, review the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee dated October 25, 2017.
Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Government - Party Bloc, said that up to now, the bloc has completed 7 key groups of tasks, carried out 35/35 activities and achieved 7/9 targets (1/9 targets estimated to be achieved). In the past year, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the bloc continued to pay attention to improving the quality of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline work was regularly paid attention to and implemented synchronously with high determination; the work of handling petitions, denunciations and grasping the ideological situation of cadres, party members and workers in agencies and units was carried out regularly...
Ms. Hang Thi Thu Nga, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Government - Party Bloc, assessed that after the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, the grassroots Party organization and the Party Committee team have been regularly consolidated, the discipline and quality of Party Committee activities, Party cell activities, and Party Committees have been deeply concerned and improved each year. The work of developing new Party members has been focused on. Since its establishment, in 17 years, the Party Committee of the Bloc has developed 6,983 new Party members. This work does not lower standards and quality for the sake of targets, but regularly screens and removes unqualified Party members from the Party according to Directive No. 28-CT/TW.
Conference to review Party building work in 2024 of the Party Committee of the People - Government - Party Bloc of Ho Chi Minh City
Ms. Hang Thi Thu Nga added that, implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on streamlining the apparatus, the Party Committee of the People - Government - Party Bloc of Ho Chi Minh City established two Party Committees, including the Party Committee of the Party agencies, mass organizations, and the city's judiciary and the Party Committee of the city's government. The new model after the arrangement basically overcomes the limitations of the old model (no government at the same level). The two new Party Committees have the participation of the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and the Standing Committee of the People's Committee in the Party Committee. This is a favorable condition for the leadership to carry out political tasks more closely, overcoming general leadership; the concretization of the Party's resolutions and the organization of implementation will be faster and more effective.
Concluding the conference, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Government - Party Bloc Tran Van Nam affirmed that the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, especially in the context that Ho Chi Minh City is facing many great opportunities and challenges, is a very important task. According to Mr. Tran Van Nam, Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW is not only a document guiding organizational work but also an important strategy in building a team of cadres, improving the quality of the government apparatus and improving the quality of leadership and management of Ho Chi Minh City.
"We must innovate our thinking in organizing and managing the apparatus. This reform is not only to reduce the number of staff but more importantly to improve the quality of the staff, ensuring better service for the people. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City, as the economic center of the country, needs a transparent and effective government system," Mr. Tran Van Nam emphasized.
