Ahead of its official public debut at the Auto Shanghai 2023 exhibition next week, Hyundai's new compact SUV Mufasa has had its official images released.
Based on the images released by Hyundai Beijing, it can be seen that the 2024 Hyundai Mufasa has a sharp design similar to the Tucson. The upright headlights and oval taillights make the Mufasa different from the widely known compact crossover.
Although the specifications have not been officially revealed by Hyundai, they have been leaked through information posted on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in February. Accordingly, the vehicle's length x width x height measurements are 4,475 x 1,850 x 1,665 (mm), respectively. Thus, the Hyundai Mufasa has dimensions almost equivalent to the standard wheelbase version of the Sportage offered in Europe.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Mufasa is said to be powered by a 2.0L petrol engine, producing a maximum capacity of 160 horsepower. The crossover weighs around 1,910 kg and has a top speed of 187 km/h.
After its public appearance at Auto Shanghai, the Mufasa will go on sale in China shortly after. It is not yet clear whether the Hyundai Mufasa will be sold in markets other than China.
