Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Production and Consumption Service Cooperative (Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City) was established in October 2011 with 20 members, including 2 main activities: safe vegetable production and consumption service and agricultural and rural tourism experience service. Up to now, the cooperative has increased the total number of members to 40 (official and associate), with a total production area of 6 hectares.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tan - Director of Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Production and Consumption Service Cooperative said: "Since joining the cooperative, farmers no longer produce in a fragmented, small-scale manner, but instead cultivate vegetables and fruits according to specific technical processes and seasonal plans.
In particular, understanding the increasing demand for clean products from consumers, the Cooperative has mobilized and trained, guiding members and production households on safe vegetable cultivation techniques according to VietGAP standards, to ensure the health of both consumers and vegetable growers.

In addition to traditional farming methods, the cooperative has boldly applied high technology to agricultural production with a hydroponic vegetable growing model on an area of 500m2 . This model helps the cooperative supply enough orders during the rainy season, while maintaining the production of many off-season vegetable varieties, meeting the needs of customers.
Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Cooperative cooperates in production and consumption of products for farmers, with an estimated annual output of more than 500 tons of vegetables and fruits, mainly supplying supermarket chains and safe food stores in Da Nang city. In particular, the Da Nang City People's Committee has recognized leafy vegetables meeting 3-star OCOP standards and fruit vegetables meeting 4-star OCOP standards, with products certified by PGS and VietGAP for safe vegetable production.
Regarding experiential tourism activities, on average each year the cooperative welcomes more than 8,000 visitors including students, tourists, domestic and foreign delegations to visit, study, and experience the activities of planting, caring for, and harvesting vegetables and fruits in the garden.

The effective operation of the cooperative has contributed to creating jobs for 60 regular workers with an average income of 6-7 million VND/person/month (especially elderly workers), contributing to ensuring social security and building new rural areas. In 2024, Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Cooperative was honored to be recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as one of 63 outstanding cooperatives nationwide.
Hope to access loan capital
Mr. Tan confided that, in addition to the achieved results, the production and business activities of Tuy Loan safe vegetable cooperative still face difficulties in product output, because price competition in the market causes the number of orders to gradually decrease.
In addition, cooperatives have difficulty accessing loans from credit institutions due to lack of collateral, ineffective and unsustainable production and business activities, leading to difficulties in expanding experiential tourism services and replicating the model of applying high technology to grow hydroponic vegetables.

Mr. Tan shared: "In order for agricultural cooperatives to truly develop sustainably and bring practical benefits to the rural economic sector, I would like to recommend that the Prime Minister propose that departments and branches study and review the difficulties in the conditions for cooperatives to borrow capital from the Cooperative Development Support Fund (such as in cases where there is no collateral, the borrower is a cooperative member...) to have specific instructions and handling to create conditions for cooperatives to access loans.
At the same time, create favorable conditions and support cooperatives to increase the application of science and technology in production to limit dependence on weather, increase output, reduce product costs, improve product quality and boost consumption; create conditions for agricultural cooperatives to participate in trade promotion and investment promotion programs...".
In addition to the above support, Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Cooperative hopes that the Prime Minister will continue to direct ministries, branches and levels to pay more attention to the development of collective economy and cooperatives in localities. Local authorities and enterprises need support and cooperation to find stable outlets for cooperative products in the area.
