DTO - On February 12, at the Provincial Center for Disaster Prevention, Control and Mitigation (Ward 6, Cao Lanh City), the Provincial Red Cross Society held a meeting to commemorate the 234th anniversary of the death of Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (1791 - 2025) in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025). Comrade Nguyen Huu Thoi - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society; representatives of the Department of Health, Dong Thap Traditional Medicine Hospital and officers in charge of Oriental Medicine of the Red Cross Society of districts and cities in the province attended.

Meeting scene
At the meeting, delegates watched a documentary video and listened to a summary of the life and career of Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac and Physician Tue Tinh. Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac is a great physician who devoted his life to researching and developing traditional Vietnamese medicine. In 2023, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac was honored as a World Cultural Celebrity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). At the same time, delegates listened to a representative of the provincial Red Cross Society read a letter from President Ho Chi Minh to health workers on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27, 1955.
Through the meeting to review the good tradition, the shining example of medical ethics, medical practice, and medical skills of the Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac and Physician Tue Tinh associated with the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Physicians' Day February 27. Thereby, creating a strong motivation for cadres, members and volunteers of the Red Cross working in the field of traditional medicine to follow, constantly strive to innovate, improve skills in combining treatment with traditional medicine with modern medicine, contributing to inheriting, preserving and developing the modern - scientific - ethnic - popular Vietnamese traditional medicine.
