(QBĐT) - On February 18, Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Quy said that the unit is vigorously and synchronously implementing the project to merge the Department of Tourism into the Department of Culture and Sports , in accordance with the policy of streamlining the apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of tourism.
The Department of Tourism was assigned 16 civil servants and 14 public employees. After the merger, the general apparatus of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is expected to have 44 civil servants, including 4 positions received from the Department of Information and Communications to manage the press and publishing sector.

The organizational structure of the Department of Tourism has also undergone many changes. The Department of Tourism Planning and Development will be transformed into the Department of Tourism Management, continuing to perform the function of State management in the fields of accommodation, travel, and tourism product development. At the same time, the Tourism Promotion Information Center will be renamed the Tourism Promotion Center, maintaining the task of promoting and promoting tourism in the province.
Regarding the working headquarters, in the immediate future, the tourism departments will continue to operate at 8 Van Cao, Dong Phu Ward, Dong Hoi City. It is expected that the merger of the Department of Tourism into the Department of Culture and Sports will be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
This merger not only helps streamline the organizational structure but also creates conditions for Quang Binh tourism industry to develop sustainably, more closely linked with the fields of culture and sports, in order to maximize the tourism potential of the locality.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy had voluntarily submitted an application for early retirement to facilitate the arrangement and organization of the apparatus between the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Tourism when merging; at the same time, creating conditions and opportunities for young staff to promote their capacity and dedication.
