On the morning of October 17, Hanoi City Police officially informed about the warehouse fire in Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district.

Specifically, at 9:20 p.m. on October 16, the City Police Command Information Center received a report of a fire at a warehouse in lane 124 Vinh Tuy, Vinh Tuy ward.

Immediately after receiving the information, realizing that the fire was likely to become complicated, the Command Information Center mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of the Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh districts and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team No. 1 (Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City Police) with 80 officers and soldiers along with 10 fire trucks and specialized vehicles to the scene to coordinate with local authorities and people to organize fire fighting.

At the scene, authorities determined that the location of the fire had many warehouses with flammable materials, generating a lot of toxic smoke and gas, which could spread to neighboring factories and warehouses.

Authorities have urgently deployed approaches, using on-site natural water sources and fire-fighting water supply systems to organize fire fighting, prevent fire spread, and search and rescue.

The fire was brought under control at around 11:45 p.m. the same day. By 1 a.m. on October 17, the fire was extinguished. Authorities were able to protect more than 8,000 square meters of warehouse and dozens of adjacent households.

Initial statistics show that the burned area is about 370 square meters, with no human casualties reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
