Despite the rain, many parents braved the rain to take their children for vaccinations early in the morning. Bringing her 6-month-old daughter for vaccination very early, Ms. Vu Thanh Hoa (Phu Dien ward) shared: “As soon as I received the invitation and learned that Hanoi was launching a vaccination campaign for children, I took my second daughter to get vaccinated against measles. During the vaccination process, the medical staff here welcomed and guided me very enthusiastically and thoughtfully, so I felt very secure.”

Similarly, at the Dong Ngac Ward Health Station, many families bring their children to get vaccinated against measles. Ms. Minh Thu (Dong Ngac Ward) brought her nearly 9-month-old son to get vaccinated against measles. She said that with measles, after researching information, she found that with enough doses, the vaccine will create a sufficient amount of antibodies with sustainable immunity in the body, helping to prevent the risk of getting measles even when exposed to the virus in the future. Therefore, as soon as she received the notice from the Health Station, she took her child to get vaccinated against measles.

Directly inspecting vaccination sites at Dong Ngac, Thuy Phuong, and Duc Thang wards' health stations, Deputy Director of the District Health Center Nguyen Thi Lan Huong - Head of monitoring team No. 2 assessed that the vaccination sites were arranged to ensure one-way principles, from the pre-vaccination waiting area, reception area, pre-vaccination screening and consultation area, vaccination area, and post-vaccination monitoring area.

This is also a group of subjects with a very high risk of measles, around 20%. Therefore, this is also the main group of subjects in the district's measles vaccination campaign this time.

Recently, the Bac Tu Liem District Health Center has developed a plan to implement a measles vaccination campaign in the district in 2025 with the goal of 95% of children from 6 months to under 9 months old living in the district receiving 1 dose of measles vaccine (MVVAC).

"The vaccination points are arranged at the regular vaccination points of the wards to ensure the one-way principle, fully arranging the pre-vaccination waiting area, reception area, pre-vaccination screening and consultation area, vaccination area and post-vaccination monitoring area" - The Director of the District Health Center assessed.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), Khong Minh Tuan, said that according to statistics, in the city, the age group under 9 months infected with measles accounts for over 20%.

Therefore, in order to increase immunity, contributing significantly to the prevention of measles, the whole city is currently implementing a measles vaccination campaign for children from 6 months to under 9 months old, striving to reach 95%.

Hanoi has implemented measles vaccination for children from 6 to under 9 months old, including transient children, with a rate of 95% of children receiving 1 dose of measles vaccine.

Implementation time is in February 2025 (from February 17 to February 28). Depending on the number of children vaccinated and the actual situation in the locality, vaccination points organize the campaign on the same day or different from the regular vaccination day.

From March 2025 onwards, vaccination will be given to children at 6 months of age and catch-up vaccination will be given to children from 7 months to under 9 months of age who have not been vaccinated. It is expected that about 20,000 children from 6 to under 9 months of age in the city will receive 1 dose of measles vaccine.

Measles vaccination is the most effective preventive measure, helping the body create immunity against the measles virus. Therefore, 100% of children of the right age should be fully vaccinated and the city strives to implement the campaign with the best results.
