8 years ago, Toan's family was in a difficult situation, Mr. Ha Van Anh (Toan's father) had liver cancer. With the hope of saving his father's life, he and his wife borrowed money and tried their best to treat him. However, after more than a year of fighting the deadly disease, Mr. Anh did not survive. Mr. Anh passed away, leaving his family with a large debt.

In early 2024, the stilt house was in disrepair, so his family dismantled it and sold it for 50 million VND. The young couple planned to borrow more money to build a level 4 house, but disaster struck. His eldest daughter, Anh Thu, had stage 2 ovarian cancer.

All the money from selling the house was used to pay for his daughter, so Toan's family had to live in a makeshift thatched house.

Mr. Tien added that, due to the difficult circumstances of Mr. Toan's family, the locality has added his family to the list of households facing housing difficulties.

Mr. Cao Ba Chau, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lang Chanh district, expressed: "From the bottom of our hearts, we are extremely grateful for the sincerity of Dan Tri readers sent to Anh Thu. The above amount of money helps her have the opportunity to receive treatment, to live, and to continue going to school with her friends."

According to Mr. Chau, Anh Thu's treatment journey is still long, he hopes the local authorities will coordinate with the family to use the money from Dan Tri readers to help in a reasonable and meaningful way.
