Avoid focusing on deadlines
With the management of more than 2,100 operating enterprises and economic organizations, nearly 20,800 business households, and more than 380,000 personal income tax codes, March every year is always the busiest time of the year for taxpayers and the Tax sector, because this is the time to receive and process a large volume of taxpayers' final settlement reports.
According to the assessment of the Tax Department, tax declaration and payment procedures have been significantly reformed in recent years to reduce time and costs for taxpayers. Therefore, submitting tax finalization reports is no longer a concern for taxpayers as before.
However, experience from previous years shows that taxpayers are still subjective, often waiting until March 15 to start submitting tax finalization. The last week of March is always the time when many people submit tax finalization reports and send documents online, which can easily lead to network overload and congestion.
Officers of the Tax Department of Tuyen Quang City - Yen Son area support taxpayers at the "One-stop" department.
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thu, Hung Thanh Ward (Tuyen Quang City) said: She works as an accountant for many companies, so the final tax declarations of some companies are only submitted by the deadline. Therefore, when submitting to the system, it often has the status "updating". The next day, when checking, it is still not on the tax system, so she has to declare and submit again. This year, she proactively did the accounting and did it early, submitted early, so she no longer encountered the same situation as last year.
Providing notes for taxpayers in tax settlement, Ms. Do Thi Kim Thanh, Head of the Taxpayer Support and Propaganda Department, Tuyen Quang Provincial Tax Department, said that taxpayers need to pay attention to the deadline and cases where they must make annual tax settlement. Taxpayers should use electronic transaction methods to carry out tax settlement procedures, which are both convenient and transparent in terms of responsibilities and obligations of the parties. Taxpayers should also proactively submit tax settlement dossiers early, avoiding submitting them in bulk on the last days of the settlement submission deadline, as this may cause network congestion and delay the submission deadline.
“After submitting the application, taxpayers should use the lookup tool on the applications provided by the tax authority to know whether they have completed their tax settlement obligations or not, avoiding errors that occur due to not monitoring and accessing the information that the tax authority has announced and provided,” Ms. Thanh added.
Boost online support
Comrade Hoang Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Tax Department of Tuyen Quang province, said that on February 27, 2024, the Provincial Tax Department issued Document No. 281/CTTQU-TTHT on strengthening support for taxpayers to make tax finalization, directing departments, offices, and Tax Branches of districts and cities to provide information so that businesses, organizations, and individuals who are required to submit tax finalization dossiers in 2023 clearly understand the policies, procedures, methods, and time for submitting annual tax finalization dossiers, and implementing the remaining tax payable or tax refund dossiers according to regulations...
To facilitate taxpayers to complete tax settlement procedures for 2023 quickly and in accordance with regulations, the Tax Department has implemented receiving requests for direct guidance at the "One-stop" department, the support and propaganda department, encouraging support via phone, email, on the Tuyen Quang Tax Department's website, the electronic tax service system (etax), facebook...
This year, online support is the main method chosen by the Tax sector, due to its ability to transmit information quickly and wide coverage. Accordingly, the websites of the General Department of Taxation and the Provincial Tax Department are the official channels for taxpayers to look up information, consult legal documents on taxes and specific guidance documents of tax authorities at all levels.
With the promotion of electronic tax applications in recent times, up to now, more than 100% of taxpayers who are organizations and enterprises have used the application of the Tax sector to declare and pay taxes electronically. At the same time, the tax authority is effectively operating the information channel system, supporting the resolution of difficulties in implementing tax administrative procedures. Taxpayers have sent professional questions to the tax authority, which are received, processed and answered promptly by tax authorities at all levels every day.
The Provincial Tax Department directs departments to propagate and support taxpayers, tax accounting declaration, information technology, tax inspection and examination, debt management and tax debt enforcement and other relevant departments to regularly and promptly grasp the difficulties of enterprises and taxpayers to provide timely guidance and support.
