(Dan Tri) - Coach Makoto Teguramori believes that with his experience, he will help Hanoi FC not only win the V-League championship but also become the leading team in Southeast Asia.
On February 17, Hanoi FC announced that Japanese coach Makoto Teguramori will lead the capital team from the second leg of the 2024-2025 V-League. Coach Makoto Teguramori will take the "hot seat" to replace interim coach Hoang Van Phuc. After having a new Japanese captain, Mr. Phuc will return to the position of Technical Director and youth training.
In his first sharing with the media after becoming the head coach of Hanoi FC, Mr. Makoto Teguramori said: "I learned a lot from the development of Japanese football and want to bring this experience to Southeast Asia. I have been to Thailand, learned many things, I realize that Thai and Vietnamese football have great potential in the future."
With a lot of experience both as a player and a coach, the Japanese strategist believes he can help Hanoi FC win the V-League this season and become one of the strongest teams in the region.
"Hanoi FC's position requires us to compete for points to win the championship, so we will try our best to win the next match. Hanoi FC is the most successful team in V-League.
I am very happy to come here to work, hoping to be able to help the team. When I came to the club, I knew this was a very strong team, but there were many things that could be improved and become stronger. I believe that Hanoi FC can become one of the strongest clubs in Southeast Asia," the 57-year-old coach confidently said.
"I want to win many victories with the club and bring achievements to the team. Before that, I watched the match between Hanoi Police Club and Quang Nam, and observed my old colleague, Mr. Mano Polking. That is also my preparation for the upcoming matches," said the new captain of Hanoi FC.
Coach Makoto Teguramori will make his debut for Hanoi FC with an away match against Hoang Anh Gia Lai in round 14 of the 2024-2025 V-League. This is a match in which the capital team aims to win 3 points as a gift to the new Japanese captain.
"Hanoi FC needs points to compete for the championship. Hoang Anh Gia Lai is very strong in counter-attacking defense and I also need a plan to counter the opponent's style of play. We will try our best to win the next match," coach Makoto Teguramori concluded.
